Root [ROM] Sleipnir v2.4.0.5 - 10/24/13 - VM & SPRINT

Re-downloaded the rom. Verified md5 with AFV. Re-installed the rom. Rebooted phone. With no new apps installed, I checked running apps and saw 85mb ram used, 199mb ram free. :)

Just wanted to ask you guys, if this is the correct value for free ram.

As Dark One said below, it should hover around 300 MB. Glad everything's up and working properly for you!

Yep. /system/framework/framework-res.apk -> Assets -> Images.
If I had any animating skills whatsoever, I'd be more than happy to :) I've tried making my own bootanimations in the past, to no avail (even copying and pasting the textfile verbatim, still no dice). However, the files are easily replaceable (though I know she might not want to do it, and you might not be able to), and there is the CM10 bootanimation as well, attached as a flashable .zip to this post just in case.

First of all, thanks for the ROM. I installed it a few days ago and was very impressed with how smooth it ran and made the phone.

Yesterday, I installed a few new apps and immediately after that, the phone started restarting itself. It would boot up, the phone would turn on normal for about ten seconds (lock screen, home screen, etc all normal) and then would restart. I tried reflashing in Recovery mode but got the same thing.

I then wiped all data and did a clean flash. Fixed the problem of the restarting loop. However, the phone has still rebooted on its own three times since yesterday. Not sure why. It's been very choppy as well - nothing like it was when I first installed it. Is there any guidance you can give? Do I need to do something else besides the clear data, clear cache, and clear davlik? Thanks.

Sounds like it's unstable. Install a cpu tuner app and lower the maximum frequency from 1.6GHz to something else, like 1.4GHz and see if that fixes things.
 
OK and this has no relevance within this thread but is there any proof that changing the prl can help with this rediculous 3g issue?
 
How much available memory do you have after installation of this rom? I only get about 150 MB free? I use ES Task manager to monitor it.

Nothing. I can't alter that, I'm not sure really anyone could. The maximum is 300 available, and typically ~100 of that is taken up by default. If you're over ~115 being used, you've got some apps that need killing because they're running in the background when you don't need them to. The same goes for all of the custom ROMs.
 
Great ROM. Thanks for all of your work. What do you guys use for gChat? I'm having this weird issue where when someone sends me a gChat, I receive a notification, but when I click on the notification, nothing happens. I installed the app talk.to for gChat stuff, but I still receive the weird notification where I can't do anything. Please advise. Thanks!

OK. Because even from a fresh boot I've got only 150 MB available. Not sure what is eating it all up?

I would suggest heading into System Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Running, and start killing some apps that need killing.

The Optimus Elite is the only phone listed, as this ROM will only work for it. You could always try it on your phone, but I would highly advise against doing so because it likely has a different partition layout, and could seriously damage your phone.

And, I just wanted to check in and see is any projection of having the Activate application working in future builds.

Here's the activation app. I don't know if this is all it takes to get activation working or not but you can make a nandroid, put this in system/app, reboot, and give it a try. If this doesn't work then we'll figure out what else you need.

I love the ROM! Got the phone today and had this ROM installed within a hour of having it. I added a few tweaks, and set it up how I like it, and the performance is great and so is battery life. Thank you!
 
Anyone try downloading the app Life 360? When I downloaded it and as soon as I activated it the phone went into a boot loop. The phone stayed on for about 10-15 seconds before restarting and I managed to uninstall it before the next reboot, but the only way to stop the loop was to pull the battery. Just a heads up to those thinking of downloading it, this might happen to you!

Did you try wiping the cache and dalvik cache, and fixing permissions, when it got into the bootloop? And what are your CPU settings?

Since it seems I'm the only one posting the issue I'm guessing its a hardware based issue or bad download... I have noticed it likes to go into airplane mode when I try to use internet sometimes. I didn't do a wipe since removing the program and doing the battery reset seemed to have fixed the problem but I may do it now that you mention it just to be safe. CPU settings are as follows: Max: 1.613 GHz. Min: 245 MHz. Governor: smartassV2. I/O scheduler: cfq

Haven't fixed the problem yet, tried updating to the newest ROM version and wiping cache and dalvik and fixed permissions prior to the Life 360 fiasco and it hasn't worked. When it goes into airplane mode it doesn't show the airplane on the radio signal, just a red X like there isn't a signal available. In the long press power button menu it reads as airplane mode: on but in the wireless and data connections menu it shows as airplane mode not activated. Not sure what to make of that?
