You guys might want to check this out. I just saw it today, it's looking promising.

Very similar to CM7, and supposedly the CM7 themes work on it too, and Torch actually works on this. It also provides other goodies such as:

I add a lot more functionality on top of CM - for example - you can change the carrier text - you can change the carrier color - just about ANY color in the statusbar (for text) such as clock, date, etc. You can hide icons, such as clock, date, battery, cell. You can change pretty much ALL colors on the pulldown text. I added a pause feature to music when the screen is off. Best way to see is to give it a try! All above changes are on the fly - no reboot necessary.

And of course I theme it blue. I also build a non-themed version for the OG Droid, and will for this if there is demand.

There appears to be a 'prep' file all-in-one type installer that you can use prior to flashing this.

I had the same issues. Try to leave the plug into the phone and then remove it from the computer and insert it back into the computer while not removing.it.from the.phone. should work....

You got USB debugging on? Try turning it off if you do.

Most likely going to have to stick to blurred Roms if you want HDMI.

Yes it is, and I'm about to install it.....dang, I just sbf'd my way back to ApeX 2.0 earlier this morning and had it all setup

I just finished installing it. Those who like blue will definitely enjoy this one; I prefer black, white and chrome (duh ). If you don't like blue either, you can apply a different theme since CM7 themes work on it (I haven't tried changing the theme, but ChevyNo1 says they work )

It has a nice boot animation, but the wallpaper was hurting my eyes, so I had to change it.

A lot of color customizations. I think it's definitely a step up from the CM7 we're used to so far for our DX's.

I suggest you guys try it for yourselves

I should be able to flash my nandroid backup if I dont like it and wanna go back to Apex? How would I flash it, cause It says not to use an external bootstrapper (D2/Dx)

I just sbf'd back to 2.3.340, rooted using z4Root, installed D2 bootstrap, then applied the SSX 2.0 update in CWR. After that I restored my data from CM7 through the built in recovery that comes with CM7 based Roms.

I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me or what, but it feels a little bit snappier than regular CM7
