Root [ROM] SSX 2.0 by ChevyNo1 Built from GB 2.3.4 Source

Damn, I just got Liberty set back up today. I might just have to wait a few days first.

Just to make sure, if on. 596 install use the second file first then the main one or should I just sbf back?

Boot into D2bootstrap, install the prep zip, the install the main file and then boot into the rom. After the rom boots, go into the ROMS bootload NOT D2, and install the prep file again. Then boot again and you should be good to go.

Then of course flash the fc fix and mms fix files. Then do batt stats :)

Anyone experiencing any random reboots on this ROM? I've had a bout 4-5 so far since installing this ROM.

I agree, but Apex, Liberty, and CM7 are all still in beta, and all have issues. Could you please suggest a rom without any bugs?

For me, stock GB with Bo's BWC was awesome and bugless. But, I have a flashing addiction that must be fed. :D :o

I'm back on stock, for now. It's very complete, fully functional and sharp. Is really the only Rom I can fully recommend at this point.

so far its been running great, and very very snappy might i add

if i start getting random reboots, i will sbf and go back to apex as thats the best rom thats most stable right now

I didn't even notice until I went to go check my phone, but it seems my phone shut itself off at some point while I was asleep and I had to turn it back on when I went to work.

I wonder if Andriod Overclock is causing issues. I'm going to uninstall it to find out.

Let us know if that was the issue

stock/rooted/deodexed ( manually removed non-essential apk's ) for me now as well. Been around the block with ROMs and just not finding one that works as advertised or "well enough".

I take back what I said about CM7, but eagerly await future updates.

well this rom has the same issues as cm7 as far as mms messages not being sent

It should, it's based off of the same source CM7 is. It's an easy fix though if you really want to fix it. Or, you can use an app like GoSMS or Handcent, which in my opinion are better than AOSP messaging app and blur app for that matter :D:D:D

When I was having mms issues with CM7 none of the 3rd party messaging apps would send or receive a pic for some reason.

O'k, this is getting dizzying now. All these new roms coming out that I have to keep track of.....UGHHH!.....lol.

Just to clarify something. This is a Froyo based rom or it has been reworked to .596? I ask because of what he says on that link about " 2.3.340 is a prerequisite. If you are not currently running that version (ie. if you are running Liberty) you will NEED TO INSTALL SSX-prep.zip first."

This is a Gingerbread-based 2.3.4 ROM that is an off-shoot from CyanogenMod 7. You have to be on Froyo to start off, because it uses the 2nd-init method of hacking the X. There, all is explained. :D

So it's kinda like running a DX2 where it has Froyoblur instead of gingerblur eh?

Nope. It's pure Gingerbread, but running off the froyo kernel, since that's the one that's vulnerable to the 2nd-init hack. Yes, you have to be on Froyo to start off, but that gets wiped away clean and an entirely new system is installed.

Mms will not work with handcent/stock messaging app unless you apply the fix.

Sounds good to me. I just don't like Beta anything so I will not be flashing this. Once all our new roms come out of Beta I will then make my choice. But for now I will be staying on my .596 stock with my home replacement app.

Loved this ROM... but it still has a bad battery drain like CM7 did. I am running Quickclock with it undervolted and still bairly made it 13 hours with almost not using the phone. Few texts, twitter and web for a little while. Used about 20 pct out of the gate this morning with some heavy use... but I shouldn't have lost 80% in 11 1/2 hrs. My DX doesn't drain like that on true Gingerbread ROMS (kernel and build)

I remember the Froyo days. So many ROMs to choose from, all with their own personality and for the most part things worked. Gingerbread ROMs however haven't been very stellar. It might just be that I was testing so many before that I simply got burned out. That or I have to exercise patience LOL. I tested Liberty GB several days ago and the LED notification wwere jacked and the dialer blew. I gotta say AOSP is getting a little long in the tooth so I most likely won't flash until I see a customizable Blur ROM like Rubix or an Apex Variant. Great work is being put into these ROMs by the devs but I'll be on the sidelines this time.
