Could the issue be due to a faulty stock battery. You said that you have not encountered the issue, but you had an extended battery. I only had the issue once but changed my battery the day after. Before then I was having problem with the battery reading the right charge level. After charging all night the battery would read at 97% then would jump up to 100 after a few min. If i rebooted the battery would lose about 10-20% but would drain slower. I reset the battery stats but a few days of use did not solve the issue. Got my extended battery in the mail and haven't had any issues since. Don't know if it is possible but just throwing that out there since all three of the people that had the issue seemed to have it after charging.
