Root [ROM-WIP-5/25/12]LeWa

The symbols on the Dial pad are what they should be. The Japanese or Chinese was just an addon. If you look through the whole UI you will see that everything is as it should be, with the addition of another language here and there.

I looked through the entire thing, and its an amazing rom. For me personally though I prefer to have English everywhere on my phone. This is merely a personal preference.. I wasn't knocking the rom for it.

Lol. I admit it takes a little getting used to, but the customization it offers far outweigh's a few Asian symbols here and there. It blows everything else I've seen (including the CM-9 ROM's) out of the water.

What about the go sms fix they were using for cold as ice?

Learned how to use APKtool today, and fix MMS
I been learning how to use it to extract, decompile, and recompile apk's.
I have a theory on the LeWa Player force closure. If I could figure out how to replace just the music player in the LeWa Player apk with the older google music player it might keep the LeWa Player from force closing? I just haven't figured out what files/folders to swap.
The lock screen seem's to be dependent on the LeWa player. I can't find an option to switch apps for the lock screen.

Deodex it then....can you? I never deodexed anything before so I'm not sure how that works....

No idea how to. :o

I'm not good woth XML, Smali, and whatever else files. All I can say is good luck. :D

I might have to bother JerryScript, but only after I've totally run out of options/ideas.

Hey CuriousNoob. It all works. mms and the lock screen music player (LeWa Player) work. I got the LeWa Player working and forgot all about the mms until this evening when I got a notification tone and looked and it was a text message from a friend. Duuh? So I shot him one back asking him to verify that he got it. Been shooting them back and forth for a few minutes now. Cool, cool, cool.

So everything works, hmm cool, I need a kernel for music player to work though -_-

I'm trying to build one for ICS at the moment..............the ICS you guys have will boot (no touchscreen), but it won't if I change the boot.img like I do for all my ports and it won't if I use the ICS (alpha) boot.img we already have...it makes me frustrated. -_-

maybe it's time for me to dig into bobzhome's github

I ended up with using tvall's almost_purity ROM, swapped the necessary system folders and used the newest patch folder.
Flashed it, the BobZohme kernel v4 (first try with the kernel provided with the ROM didn't quit work), and then the gapps. Rebooted a couple of times after skipping the sign in. Then proceeded to carry on like normal setting up everything. Checked the LeWa player and it did it's full scan and loaded up and worked, even the lock screen portion worked.
Was going to wait until it was a little later in the morning to text a friend, but forgot.
This evening I got a notification ringtone? I had 3G and WiFi off. Hmmm. Turned the screen on, then went to the Home screen and a pop up window with my friends text message was staring me smack in my face. Uuuh! I text him back and asked if he could confirm receipt of my text. He shot me one right back and confirmed, yes mms was working. Allll Riiight!

It's a little touchy on the first boot up, just skip the sign in and then reboot a couple of times to tighten it up and all is good. I now have the CPU set to Interactive X 480MHz min-768MHz max. Will try playing a game called Escape 2012 to see how it performs.

Could you please post a zip! Please lewa has always been my top pic but I can't use it unless mms I's fix! Please post a zip!

I can pm CuriousNoob about what I did to get everything working. Then he can post the zip.
It would be very bad on my part to do as you suggested. This is originally his Idea to port the LeWa over to the V.
I don't mind getting a mention along with sammyz as helping, but that's all I did.
You will have to be patient, and wait for CuriousNoob to post a zip that has the LeWa Lockscreen music player and mms working.
Sorry, but that's the best I can do. I have to respect the original idea and thread that's CuriousNoobs
