Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Had trouble sending mms through the native ap but gosms sent ok. Have not received an mms yet so I do not know how well that works yet.

You can make as many back ups you want, as long as you have space on your sd card.

I meant like should I back up the cm7 rom after I flash it? From what I've gathered, that's the reason I got stuck on the boot screen after my battery died last night

The rom is awesome and so is the green machine theme. I wanted to know if it was possible to get a blue version. Everything the same just blue instead of green. It would be highly appreciated.

Is there a way to change to different themes from the greenmachine theme? I see theme switcher app but all the themes I download only change the statusbar icon colors. Please help!

The Green Machine theme is not theme chooser compatible. To remove it, go into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, then reflash the ROM. You don't need to format anything or flash gapps.

This ROM is AWESOME!!! I just upgraded from the....July build? My V is Super Snappy!! Just experimenting, i installed zefie's #10 kernel...And got pretty good battery life out of it, although the Menu and Home buttons were switched....All in all though? Stable as my everyday ROM!!

Hey Jerry, keep up the good work! It doesn't look like i'll looking anywhere else for my V ROM's anytime soon.....Oh, and this theme is Sick on my phone!

i love the rom but im also having problems with the mms should i just wipe every thing or and flash it again

Using go sms the mms worked well.

@jerryscript: I don't want theme cost I want everything exactly the same as green machine but blue it could even say green machine. Would that be a possibility?

I second the blue theme if its possible...kinda throws off the "green machine" thing though lol.

:D Flashed the newest version of Backside with the kernel update and it is glorious. Looks like I no longer need to use the XioniaRedux kernel anymore. Props to all who have had their hands in the making of this rom. :D

Is there a way to change the boot animation. I tried following this one tutorial and it said to put the zip in data/local. My phone didn't have that folder. Please help! Also thanks for the help on my last question!

just throw it in system/media...I bet that'll do the trick.;)

If you are having MMS issues, you may need to do a full wipe/format, just be sure to backup your apps first, but DO NOT BACKUP SYSTEM APPS OR SYSTEM DATA!

Like eriman said, put the bootanimation.zip of your choosing in /system/media
(interesting nick eriman, eri.xml is one of the main configuration files ;) )

The nexus email may have something to do with the fact almost all ROMs built from source include some portion of the nexus builds. Those built from system images of a particular phone probably don't have this issue.

"Read only file system"

I get that message everytime I try to delete anything from the system/media folder. I used terminal emulator and gave it root. Still didn't work. Thanks for all the help!

Download ES File Explorer from the Market. Once installed, open it, press the menu key, select settings, scroll down to Root Settings, and check both Root Explorer and Mount File System. Then navigate to the /system/media folder and you should be able to delete the file. ;)

I am thinking of flashing this rom but i keep reading that xionia recovery (which is what i am using now) isn't recommended... which recovery is the best one to flash before flashing the rom?

Figured out it wouldn't backup the sd-ext because I had fat 32 which works for the rom but the recovery is compatible with ext3. Had an issue removing green machine and ended up formatting it with clockwork which made it ext3 and backed up no problem. As for the blue version of green machine cyan dragon theme for themer is basically a blue version with different icons in the notification bar.

Edit: the battery life seems not much worse than running stock unrooted with heavy use. I use my phone more than my pc especially now with this rom making it so much better. I also use link 2sd and the available space is just as good as harmonia when I tried it out. I currently have about 90 apps and 150 mb free internal.
