Just for my own knowledge, is the problem that there is a black screen in recovery also a reason that people factory reset from the privacy menu?

The recovery that's the problem is the 3.2.0.1 in the Flash Recovery option.
The Touch screen Recovery is a separate recovery download option on the premium version (paid)
Don't worry a5pe4 it's a very good recovery. You just can't flash a radio.img from it. Something you don't need to worry about if you didnt install the firmware update.

But if one thing has just been found to not work who knows if flashing something else could brick your phone. I'd rather be safe in this case.
 
With it being so easy to switch recoveries, using the BacksideUpdater or terminal, I would say you can choose the recovery that fits your needs easily enough, and switch to another if there is a need (such as flashing a radio, should you be so adventurous). ;)
 
I flashed the 03062012 build of backside, then noticed that it was updated on the 13th, what changed?? Also, I noticed a bit of battery drainage compared to previous roms, although it could be because I just flashed it, I know I should wait a couple days for real battery stats.

So what changed?
 
There has been a post or two asking about having the ability to change system icons. While I don't have the time to add the option right now, I wanted to point out that NinjaMorph from the market works on the OV. It may close the first time you use it saying not enough space on sdcard, but open it again and it should work fine.

I just performed the install last night. Today, I'm having issues with not being able to view the lock screen. When I click the power button, I simply see a screenshot of the "home page" with all my icons on it. I believe the lock screen is behind the screenshot. One time, the screenshot was the landscape version, so I was able to see half of the lock screen and was able to punch in my code. Other times, I've had to yank the battery to reboot it.

Anyone else have this problem?
 
That's a known bug in the current build. You don't need to pull the battery, the lockscreen functions, you just can't see it. Swipe your finger like normal, then rotate the phone's orientation to landscape and back. You should be unlocked and looking at your perfectly normal homescreen.

The problem is, I also use a code to get into my phone... so yes, I can swipe my finger and get rid of the lock screen, but I can't see the pinpad to enter my code (unless I memorize where the buttons are).
 
D'oh! Some people have reported that bug goes away with setting the orientation to portrait, or if you disable the ICS animation. The bug started in the 0219 build if I'm not mistaken, take a look back through the forum posts. You'll see the discussion on it and possible fixes for it. I never bothered because I use the ring style lockscreen, and it only happens a couple of times a week.
 
I first tried out the ROM last night and was extremely pleased. However at some point today my text messaging completely stopped. I've wiped the phone clean and reinstalled everything with no avail :(. At first I thought it was an autokiller, so I uninstalled that but it didn't fix my issue. Anyone have this happen? Everything else seems to work great.
 
I can attach my phone to my car radio via bluetooth and make phone calls. I would typically push a button and say "Call John Smith on Mobile" and it would make the call for me. The call would go through and it would say "Active Call: John Smith" on my car radio.

After putting this ROM on my phone, I am no longer able to do that. It's as if the radio is not getting my address book download. I can no longer make a call by saying the persons name and it not longer displays the persons name on my radio. Now it simply displays the phone number ("Active Call: 555-555-1212").

Is this a known issue?

I can not help you out, but may be able to suggest an app that might work for you; Vlingo

I use it to text my wife in the car. I reads back what I speak in my message and reads her incoming messages. Never have to look at the screen.
I have only used the dialing feature when I first got the app and seeing how it worked.
 
A while back I mentioned about Bluetooth transfer not working between optimusv this weekend I tried to transfer to another android and it did not work.
 
So far so good, did two Optimus V's by following your guide on the top of the thread. Did all the formatting etc. One problem is neither phone can send MMS. Once you tell it to send you see the 3G data pop up and has activity for maybe 20-30 seconds, but then disconnects and text message program still says "sending"
Sent MMS from wife's sprint phone and got the notification but download button to download the MMS, but it starts 3G data when I do that but it goes off a few seconds later and doesn't change from the download button to showing the picture.

I think something is wrong maybe mms settings aren't to the right server or something?

We are both in Wisconsin (both optimus Vs)

nevermind, just saw the couple previous posts about messaging issues within virgin.

Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me as 90% of my phone usage is over bluetooth. Can someone recommend another ROM that doesn't brick the bluetooth?
