Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Could some of you please check what it says in this file:

/sys/devices/system/soc/soc0/build_id

I have flashed LeslieAnn's radio zip file three times today, and it still says VM670ZV4
(I know, I'm late to the party, I like to make an appearance

)

If this turns out to be a reliable place to get the baseband info from, I can change the code in IHO based ROMs to show the baseband version under Settings>>About phone. It currently is setup to check for gsm basebands, since cdma isn't officially supported. I'm just not sure if that file is written by the ROM, or it's value is grabbed from the modem. Only those that can double check with gpst will know for sure.

Note- the file exists on the stock donor phone, and it shows ZV9, so I'm hopeful this could work!

i have flashed the radio, zip but wish i hadn't [reception worse]
currently running 4-1 backside

I flashed the 3-31 rom and had a major amount of freezing . I kept having to pull the battery, despite having the animation thing turned off. Just flashed the 4-01 build and have animations off, and will report back.

VM670ZV4 on my phone.
Note: I flashed the new radio when I was running Quattrimus, haven't flashed it since I went back to your latest (which I do really like).

Google nav still not working keeps saying searching for satellites or signal lost. Copilot worked for the most part. On a side note I have an external TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver I used with my Centro and finally got it to pair and work with maps and nav right away but I didn't drive anywhere but the location was spot on. I do understand in general it is a better receiver.

Let me tell you when your use to driving in an ordered streets setup L.A. streets suck.

Not sure why I can't flash 04-01 properly. Perhaps I need gapps? Might have flashed the wrong ones. I had backed up all of my apps and when I rebooted, it wanted my Google info, fine. When I tried to restore my apps, I got a message about not having the space to do it. I was really digging the new Quicksilver theme, so I'm a bit sad. So gapps or what, guys?

If you got the Gapps from the first post in this thread then you got the right Gapps. Should be 20110828

What build were you coming from? A month ago Jerry began integrating the dalvik cache back into the phone storage. This causes about a 30-50 mb loss of phone storage space.

If your coming from such an early build there was recently changes. A little back there is a few long discussions on the topic.

I came from the december 21 build which was awesome so I never updated... what's up with the new ones? I appreciate the work that's being done for sure, just trying to make sure the issues are addressed and keeping myself informed.

Thanks Jerry!

I'm beginning to think those who have issues with GPS may have a hardware issue. Definitely not certain about it yet, but I have never had an issue with GPS, and only a handful of users have ever complained about it. One of the IHO devs, mrg666 has two OVs, and one gives him GPS trouble, so I'm leaning towards hardware on this one.

Still freezing on the 4-01 build.... this is dreadful..... =[
Could you be a bit more specific, what freezes, what do you do before it freezes, what do you do to unfreeze it, etc. And of course, be sure you have
Settings>>Display settings>>Rotation animations (unchecked).

Over 1200 downloads, and so far, your's is the only report of freezing.

OK, it looks like the radio is not being properly flashed by our custom recoveries. I have some testing to do tomorrow to confirm it, but based on feedback in several forums, and test by mrg666 (one of the IHO devs), it looks like the only way to successfully flash the radio is to install the VM security update 100%, then root it, then go back to BACKside or whatever custom ROM you prefer.

More details on Wednesday. ;)

I believe I had that unchecked, if you're talking about the fade in thing from each app. I remember reading about that problem and doing the suggestion and it froze.=/ It usually freezes on instant messaging, or sometimes it will freeze on the lock screen. Sometimes HALF the screen will freeze and I can see just half a screen. I can be doing anything and it will freeze on it, and I take out the battery to unfreeze it.

No, it's not fade in, it's the animation that occurs when you rotate the screen. Normally, the screen just flips to the new orientation. With that setting checked, it uses the ICS rotation animation code, and unfortunately, our phone cannot handle it.
Settings>>Display settings>>Rotation animation (uncheck it) ;)

I just came from VM's stock ROM and this is my first time with a custom ROM (4-1 build). I've had no problems with the GPS either, although it does seem to take a bit longer for that first lock on than it did with VM's stock ROM, but after that it runs fine.
