Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

When I have network gps without satellite on it says no gps available on all my apps. Not serious though.

Edit I'm running a completely fresh install.

I'm fairly sure thats not the problem, I've set the CPU to stock as well as underclocking it, and the issue still remains. Would anyone recommend a completely fresh install, or is there some way of troubleshooting?

When in doubt reformat. It may be an issue from a previous build i have yet to be able to update without doing a reformat without having issues. Make a backup first then reformat them flash the new rom.

Fantastic ROM! I'm loving it. The battery drains a bit quickly. That is the only thing I found wrong with it. But other than that it's terrific.

A couple questions...

1) Any way I could get rid of the IHO boot image?

2) Any chance on making the Green Machine theme in other colors, like pink or blue?

Thanks a lot for making such a great ROM!

I have new build https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/Binary
Changelog

08-22-2011:

1. Sync'd up with CM
2. Updated to Blarf's GPS tweak(faster lock and improved battery life)
3. Update to official LG fingerprint
4. Fix: libaudio - Don't mute in-call audio
5. tweak: recovery - Mount any second partition on an SD card
6. tweak: Increase read ahead buffer

Please don't thank me, instead donate to Blarf for all the great work he has done.

Enjoy!

1) The IHO boot image replaces the red LGE boot image. I can remove them all together, but that leaves a blank screen that makes you wonder if the phone is booting or not, IMO you need something there.
2) I make the GreenMachineTheme with UOT Kitchen, a)I like green b)green is the android color, you can do the same with any color you like ;)

Should work fine, mmarz's work is amazing!

Okay well how would I go about using my own splash screen?

Build #08202011 seems a little unstable. I set the CPU speed down to 600MHz and it's still occasionally reboots, and sometimes gets stuck in the boot animation. Was in the middle of a Bluetooth call and Bluetooth quit. Had to finish the call with phone stuck to face while driving ,after I dug it out of my pocket. The gallery is worse than ever before, even at 600Hz with reboot and using the media scanner in Dev Tools. OK now It's frezzing then rebooting at 600MHz. I'm going to try something. I'm going to Reinstall CWM 3.2.0.1 and reinstall ROM and see if that doesn't cure the problems. Or maybe I should flash everything including a new set of Gapps.

Other than that, everything else seems to work fine.

Unfortunately, you have to either build from source replacing the initlogo.rle file before running make bacon, or you have to unpack the boot.img from the update file, extract the ramdisk, then change the rle image, then repack it, then flash it to your phone.

It's not a trivial matter, but there are excellent build instructions linked to on the wiki if you want to have a try at it.

Sounds like you need to do a fresh install, I would try wiping cache/dalvik and reflashing, then testing to see if it works before going through a complete format. If it still gives you troubles, you will need to do a complete format, but you are the first I've heard with these issues, so hopefully a re-flash will suffice. ;)

How do i make a new thread/post in this place.. Its taking me hours and i still have not figured it out.. All i want to do is post a new question.. Please help :(

I installed build #08202011 over build #08172011(wiped cache partition and dalvik cache only) which is why if every body else was having problems with it I decided a fresh install might be necessary. I was already starting the process before I read you thread. Just waiting on Titanium to finish with the batch install of apps.

Thanks a lot for making such a great ROM!

Rover has some nice color themes easy to use through the theme app.
[CM7 Theme] Rover's Mix V.1.9 + Rover Wallpaper + Lockscreen & Animations [08 May 11] - xda-developers
I use the blue. Very easy to use.

I did a full reformat and no issues but I don't use bluetooth.

Build #08202011 seems a little unstable.

I'm noticing alot of force closes on 8202011. I formatted the cache and delvik cache and also did boot, system, data, etc. (3x each cuz I'm using xiona lol) but yeah, I erased everything and started fresh and I'm having FC issues.

hi jerry, i came across an issue on the new build (08-20v) today. although the camera and camcorder both work, sometimes when i zoom in on the picture, a weird grid shows up on the screen. i can still see thru the grid and take a picture and the grid doesnt appear on the picture, but it looks odd.

for example, on the default camera setting, the grid is there. as i zoom in, the grid changes. sometimes it appears green, other times it is black. sometimes the lines overlap, sometimes they do not. i have also found that the grid is not present on the no zoom setting for the video camera. it only appears when zooming in. i was sure to test this with phone set to default cpu speed. have you encountered this?

nevermind jerry. too much overclocking. reboot solved it. even when clocking down, clearing memory and force stopping the camera program, the grid appeared. not until a fresh boot did it resolve under slower clock speeds.

fyi to anybody who is interested, ive worked my phone super hard today and i am still at 77%. because of setcpu, i will now be charging my phone every two or three days while overclocking.

has anyone tried the game Inotia3 on this rom? I tried it and it shows loading but then becomes a black screen. It worked on stock.. Any ideas?

Whenever I record video I get a good picture but no sound. Anyone else having that issue?

Yes, it is a known issue we are investigating. If you need it fixed right now, I can post a previous build without that bug.

lets say i wanted to edit the green machine like as in change the color .. what program would i use .. would i do it here UOT Kitchen ... or is there some where else
To change the colors of the green machine theme, you would need to know all the settings I used, missing even one would look strange. Best bet is to create your own at UOT Kitchen. ;)

Give it a reboot or two. Sometimes after installing, as the cache is being rebuilt some things get into a race situation, which can cause FCs. If it persists after a few reboots, you may need to redownload and reflash.

Perhaps try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
