Battery life with 3G on depends upon your signal strength. At home I get horrible battery life with 3G on (I live in a dead-zone). At work, I get great battery life with 3G on (very strong signal at work).

I use wifi at home, 3G away from home, email syncs every 1/2 hour, 8 widgets with 6 that update at various intervals (like WeatherBug ScoreMobile News&Weather Market YouTube etc). I do not run live wallpapers. I usually make 6-12 calls per day, check my email every half hour, send 10 to 20 sms, view 20-30 webpages, and play 30 min to an hour of games or videos. I get 16-28 hours depending upon my usage.

I do not use any type of battery saving apps, in my experience they cause more harm than good. ;)

In the interest of cutting down on bandwidth from my mediafire account, and saving internal memory in the phone, I remove all wallpapers, livewallpapers, large ringtones, non-english/spanish tts libraries, and I switch out an english only keyboard dictionary. This reduces the size of BACKside-IHO from 82mb+ to less than 60mb. If you go to the wiki page, all removed items are available for you to place back on your phone. ;)

For some reason when I try to change wallpapers it doesn't show live wallpapers, I do have the live wallpaper app, I'm using adw and also tried the zeam launcher, any ideas? Live wallpapers worked fine on my other rom

I removed the live wallpapers, and on at least one build I accidentally removed the livewallpaperpicker.apk, all in the interest of slimming down the bloat (down from 82mb+ to <60mb). There are several IHO builds that keep all the bloat in them, try pbailey212 or emuzombie builds:

BACKside-IHO hit a milestone today, over 5000 downloads of all builds to date, and over 1000 downloads of the 0810 build alone! Put this together with the other IHO builds, and it's easy to assume there are at least 2000+ users with awesome phones thanks to Blarf and his IHO repository!

THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK BLARF!
Now it's time for some of you to consider donating a couple of bucks to Blarf to help keep hope alive! ;)

I FIGURED IT OUT! Sorry I've been very frustrated every time I flash I can never get my link2sd to work properly. What needs to be done is make sure link2sd is not linked then on your first reboot start the app and select the partition then restart. I always had link2sd linked and downloaded it from the store which must have cau
sed issues.

Edit: spoke to soon. missing a bunch of apps that won't restore keeps saying finished then nothing so it's on to another format.

Asking again:

When I switch the camera AND videos to horizontal I get these crazy transparent criss crossing to make many squares... what in the world do I do to get rid of that? lol.

What build and version are you running? I had the same problem with an older build, one of the first Backside builds. Since updating I haven't had any problems. All my videos play great.

Fresh clean format got my theme and boot animation replaced tested gps and it's working too late to make any calls so that'll have to wait.

Edit: how do you change the bootsound i found some nice sounds that will go well with my hitchhikers guide bootanimation.

Just had to share.;)

jerry, i cant thank you enough for all that you do. i never thought i could have so much fun with a phone before. as far as the updated rom, so far, it is awesome. i havent tested everything yet, but performance wise it is even better than the last one. im not sure if it is because you removed the live wallpapers or what (i installed them over the 0810 build), but my long benchmark scores in setcpu are faster on this new build. i have also found that i can overclock slightly more too without any problems at all (unless i get too aggressive with it).

for everybody asking about battery life, i cannot say enough good things about the app setcpu in the android market. it is a pay app, but well worth it. aside from overclocking like the cyanogen setting allows, you can set profiles to underclock (or overclock) during specific situations. for example, i currently have my phone set to 245 min and max cpu when the screen is off and i have seen significant battery improvement (with a few other profiles enabled) i personally like to overclock and play with the governor settings and then run tests to see which is the fastest. once i determine that, i run the stress test for a while, then close the program and try opening the camera app. when it is overclocked too high, the phone reboots. i can get away with 844 max cpu on this build so far, on the last one, i could only do 825 without rebooting.

thanks again, jerry.

So the 8202011 build wont download for me. It says processing download request then click here to download and when I do it just reloads the page and does the same thing..

Try again at another time, and be sure you have space available on your sdcard for the 60mb download. ;)

I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem but when I switch from camera to video, the UI disappears, and shows my wallpaper. I then have to hit back to return to the home screen. Any ideas?

If your over clocked too high it will cause issues with the camera

I'm still having issues with the line on the 8-10 version. Hopefully the update fixes it but I can't update for one reason:

The wiki page does not contain "all the removed items [that] are available to place back on [my] phone".

All I see are different builds... where I can I just DL ,for instance, JUST the ringtones or JUST the wallpapers, etc.? I 'd rather not update not knowing that I'm out certain things... lol....
