Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Maybe a stupid question, but will this phone be able to use Ice Cream Sandwich after a ROM is made?

Anyway, thanks for this great ROM! It really works well!

Could it be possible to use the stock android launcher? Or do I have to use something like ADW or LauncherPro?

I think you can use the stock launcher on this build, but i haven't tried myself. Here is the link. http://androidforums.com/http://www.mediafire.com/?u04bq0xzq1w9aqdInstall it on recovery, right after flashing the BACKside IHO rom.

Ice cream sandwich theme also works with the stock adw launcher with this build.

Ice Cream Sandwich has been release on a phone, but not the source code for it, so don't hold your breath.

You can use the stock launcher, I believe there is a link to download it on the wiki.

Anyone tried the Netflix app yet? It's running a bit slow with audio sync issues for me.. >_<

Get1.2.2 from xda works no problems
I was having problems with the newest version where the video would play in slomotion but sound would play at normal speed. Audio sync was impossible. Installed 1.2.2 from xda-developers - View Single Post - [APP][Updated 9/13/11 V1.4] Official Netflix and it seems to have solved the problem, but how do I keep it from wanting to update all the time?

there was a build someone made to stop that but it doesn't work so you just keep saying no to update. Little to give for a working version.

Just out of curiosity, what's it like developing a ROM? Do you take the CM code and try to get it to work on the Optimus V or what? How long does it take? Sorry for all the questions. ;P

just flashed 10.17 with the stock 2.3.5 launcher. Worked fine, but i like the adw launcher more. Adw seems faster, better looking, and customizable

I was on the same build for ages... The new build is super duper. :D

*Edit*

Just keep in mind it is a new kernel so I would suggest a full wipe...

Did the full wipe install of the ROM just made available the other day - I'm still getting that speakerphone volume when using the phone. It's fine with a bluetooth headset, but way WAY too loud using the handset.

Help....

I believe LeslieAnn's signature describes it best:

Ahhhh, the wonderful life of a rom developer, so romantic, so glamorous! The candles, the music, the gentle glow of your phone as it sits on your desk stuck in a boot loop.

Just wanted to throw out there I was trying out Bob's 10/13 build. There doesn't seem to be too much of a difference in performance/features but was disappointed to see that in Bob's build MMS was not working for some odd reason. I had seen another individual in the XDA forum for IHO say the same thing about Bob's build. I had done a full wipe and install when trying out his build but I have since then restored my backup of the 10/10 build of backside and updated to 10/17.

Have you tried turning down the volume while on a call?

I just updated to the 10172011 build and I noticed that my screen moves a lot quicker at the expense of a fluid feel to it. Is there a reason for this? I don't like how clunky it feels now like this... :/

btw. I upgraded from the 9282011 build.

I just updated from a previous build as well. Had to run the v6 supercharger and kicka**kernel tweak to get the performance back to where it was originally. If you were running the v6 supercharger script before I would run the script to see if its still sticking.

Oh and try the 16bit Transparency in the cm7 Performance options and disabling the Surface Dithering. Just changing those two settings you should see a pretty noticeable improvement.

What is Kicka**Tweak? I've tried googling it, but didn't find a very good explanation? It is compatible with Supercharger V6?

Thanks!

Latest v6 supercharger + this build = the fastest, smoothest, most amazing beast rom, my phone ever had an affair with. :D
oh and also, for some reason the music app wasn't on my phone, so I just used the Google music app, bit now I can't see the albulm name, artist name, or song name on the lock screen.. is there anyway you could upload the napkins for the music app you use in your rom so I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of reflashing the rom again and restoring my apps 1 by 1 and setting up V6 9.31? Again? :)

Oh and Ben, is your Grover theme compatible with this build?

I just saw your question about Grover theme. Sorry. Do you still want it I'll make it for this release if you do.

I did change the time in milliseconds for the screen transitions to a lower value to make them faster. If you want the fluid feel back, try raising them to above 500. ;)

ok im waiting in line for uot, it should be up in about 30 minutes and will be more in depth now that I understand how it works.

ugh! theres so many people using uot that its taking forever to get my file back. Soon I hope

It is a pita to have to wait, but that only proves how valuable a tool UOT Kitchen is!
