(I could make a paragraph full of names, please don't be offended if I left you out ;) )

I just downloaded and tried to update but, well boot hung. I couldnt even get logcat to tell me what was wrong.. It just hung on green android. .thinking it was a bad download, i decided to download again, twice more so after that. Both of them received the same boot hang with no logcat. Verry puzzeling. Is this working for anyone? Can you please look into it Jerry
EDIT: I know about the annimation problem btw, it wasnt that. cause then there would be logcat to view??

Just this moment finished flashing the new update (haven't even gone past the lockscreen yet to check things out). Everything went smoothly, and I was on the bootanimation screen for a total of 3 1/2 minutes before it went past there to the lock screen. :)

Thanks Jerry!!

Same. Thanks for the new build

something I noticed in the newest build. In Settings, under Accessibility, the option to end call using the power button is no longer there.. I always turned that setting on. Was there a problem with that setting or was it mistakenly removed?

[HOWTO] Change PRL on Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V (5/06/2011) - xda-developers
I can't get this to work on my phone. Running a build I believe is one build old. Is this already enabled on Backside?

I updated the PRL last week from 60681 to 60683 on my OV running BACKside 10/17/2011 build. It was the first PRL change I've made since rooting and using a non-stock ROM. The only difference in the update procedure was that the OV running BACKside must be placed into the recovery mode after being connected to the PC via USB--instead of being powered OFF when running the stock ROM. QPST was able to recognize my OV and wrote the new PRL as before when I was unrooted and stocked. HTH...

[Edit] I'm using the aospCWMod-VM670-20110531.img for recovery. [/Edit]

not just recovery, non-iho recovery.
the iho kernel doesn't get along at all with qpst.

same here, frozen bootanimation for 3-4 minutes, then the lock screen popped up. i noticed that the IHO boot logo still indicates 7.1... good stuff tho! keep up the great work!

also, i love the update checker. it worked perfectly for me.

Ok just checking. Im gonna read through the guides a few more times and take some notes(lol) because im thinking about trying this

Good luck, hope u get a better result than I did...I ended up switching back after noticing I got an even worse signal at work :( stupid crappy small town...crappy signal, no 3g..blah.

I live in a pretty small town too, but my house is basically in the middle of two phone towers on opposite sides of town, so I don't understand why i'm not getting alot better signal than I do now. One was put up recently and i'm thinking vm hasn't updated for that one, then again maybe i'm wrong...guess I'll find out lol

Is there an easier way to do this?

The boot animation issue has no effect on the rom its purely the animation not playing properly. Replaced it and no freeze. A few minutes loading initially is normal.

As I was syncing with CM7.2 and preping for a push to get our phones officially supported, I inadvertently left out the fixed headset keylayout, so your headset key isn't working with the 1122 build. Attached is a flashable zip file that should fix the issue, sorry for the trouble.

Thanks for the update, great as usual.

Is there a way to disable the camera sounds without putting the phone into silence? The camera shutter is all garbled and sounds like the speaker is threatening to blow.

After flashing the new build, the Google Music player I downloaded is gone and replaced with the old player. What happened? Also even though it says I have 100 mb of free internal storage space, when I try to download a file past a certain size it says I have insufficient space. I'm sure when I move the dalvik cache file away the internal storage space will decrease but why is that? Why does it show a certain amount of space when you really only have much less?

I stopped including the newer Google Music since it has become a service, so you should use the Market version now for best results.

You do have that space, but the Market's space calculating algorithm includes things that make it's total larger, and so it thinks there is insufficient space. This is an issue on many phones with the newer versions of the Market (the past 3 versions I believe).

Once again, I offer TB as a solution. ;)

Sigh but I like the new market!

Also when I move the dalvik file my space decreases dramatically. What does that mean?

Jerry, did you know anything about my previous question? I'll copy and paste: something I noticed in the newest build. In Settings, under Accessibility, the option to end call using the power button is no longer there.. I always turned that setting on. Was there a problem with that setting or was it mistakenly removed?

Getting kinda off topic here, but after i did get my prl swapped. According to opensignal maps i had 54% signal strength before the swap. I checked afterwards and it varies between 55 to 79% strength after. So far, so good methinks. Now i just need to remember to check it at work too..

Just remember what a prl swap does. There are Sprint towers everywhere, but VM only leases some of them. The PRL swap will allow you to access more of those Sprint towers. So if you are in an area with a non-VM leased Sprint tower, a PRL swap will give you better reception. However, if you are in an area that VM leases all the Sprint towers, then it won't make a bit of difference. ;)
