Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

Removing the gallery altogether can bork other features/apps/functions that rely on it's intents.

But th CoolIris Gallery has a green Yes with no note as opposed to the yellow yes with a note on the list of safe apps to remove... here.

I dunno how many use Watchdog, but if I souly use the default gallery it persistently eats massive amounts of CPU which makes Watchdogs alarm constantly go off. It does this on my daughters Intercept, it did it on my Op V before I rooted, and it does it on my current rooted/rom OpV. I've kept it frozen with TB since day 1 and not had any bad effects from it.

I just had the weird thing happen. My battery got low, about to die so I went to plug in on the charger and now it is in a boot loop and boots to the lockscreen that says 1% battery charging and then restarts itself. Any ideas?

Leave it turned off for about fifteen minutes while it's charging. Then pull the battery, and hold down the power button for thirty seconds. Pop the battery back in then power up.

With CM based ROMs, you cannot leave it turned off while charging, as soon as you plug it in it will attempt to boot.

What you need to do is remove the battery and unplug from the charger. Now get someone to help you, this is hard to do alone. You need to put the battery back in, and hold down menu+vol_down+power and then plug in the charger, do not let go of any buttons till the recovery menu appears. Your phone will charge in recovery, let it go for at least a half hour, then select Reboot system now. It should reboot and continue to charge. ;)

Sounds like something made one of the incall settings for vibration get stuck. Try clearing the phone apk's cache (manage applications), then boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache, reboot and test.

oh, and another thing.
has there been any progress figuring out why the power button ends a call instead of putting the screen to sleep?
I was reading something about it a couple weeks ago. and I tried using button remapper but had no luck
if the power button sleep policy during call and the microphone not working with headphones get fixed, this would be an A++ rom. and I would have no choice but to donate :-P

I just rooted and installed backside on two of my kids phones. I was going to wait but got tired of the crapy setup lots of problems. Anyway I downloaded or already had most the stuff on my phone and bluetooth it to the others which worked great. Now they both also have backside I can't bluetooth anything to them from my phone which has backside. It shows the devices but when I send always says connection failed.

I will look into the bluetooth issues, though I must admit BT isn't something I've dabled in much. Could you post a logcat via patebin of a failed attempt?

Power button ending call is a known issue, no fix currenly.

To get logcat output, open terminal and type the following:

su
logcat > /sdcard/logcat.txt

Now press your home key so you leave terminal running in the background. Do whatever it is that doesn't work for you. Then long press home and select terminal from recents. Press the menu key and toggle the keyboard on. Now hold down the volume_down button and press your "c" key to stop the logcat.

You will find a text file named logcat.txt on your sdcard. Post it's contents to pastebin, and post the url here.

Ok. Haven't had a chance to get the logcat yet, the kids love there newly suped up phones, but when I reboot them I always get a screen telling me to call and activate them. There not activated and have no plans to. Is there anyway to disable this?

so far, my only complaint for the latest build is battery life..
i mean common, who would want to be able to go 2 days, 3 hours, 10 minutes, and 31 seconds on a single charge(standard OEM battery that came with the phone) with mild to moderate use, while forgetting to turn off the wifi and 3g till youre down to 5%? thats just outrageous! im very disappointed that my phone wont die within the first 8-12 hours of using it.
that is all.. i hope this problem gets resolved in the next build.
KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK!!

another "complaint"; i found out that my phone will occasionally regain battery life.. i will post a couple screen shots momentarily.

I noticed the battery % indicator occasionally showing more than what it had previously.

Hey, JerryScript. Could you use your phone to try to edit the very bottom of your first post.
This is a problem I've been dealing with since I had to sell my laptop.

yea, as you can see in the pics i provided, the battery seems to self charge occasionally, even though it may only be 1%-5% increase, it really helps.

I have a message for Jerry...
Nevada is a long ways from here, lol. If you talk to jerry, let him know im using the latest build on my fathers phone, and am greatful for him getting me up and going on the development for my new phone.
I got my wife the Wildfire S and simonsimons34 is the JerryScript for that phone.

 How are you getting 2 days??? If I get even 1 day I'm very happy. I don't even feel like I use the phone that much and I have nearly everything off.
