Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

android_new_years.png

Hey guys, I'm a semi noob at this stuff but I flashed the most recent ROM, and green machine, everything is mostly well except for 2 things, my default browser forces close upon launch, and I have an icon that I can't get rid of of an Android with USB for an arm on my lock screen, I flashed, wiped Dalvik cache and rebooted, did I miss something?

If coming from a different ROM, or attempting to fix issues:

1-wipe cache
2-under advanced, wipe dalvik cache
3-under mounts, format boot, system, data, and cache
4-flash ROM zip file
5-flash gapps
6-reboot

If upgrading the existing ROM to a new build:

1-wipe cache
2-under advanced, wipe dalvik cache
3-flash ROM zip file
4-reboot

Hey JerryScript I noticed that you don't require the wipe data/factory reset option when coming from another ROM. Would it be ok to clue me in as to why? Has something changed with the IHO ROM's?
I don't want to be giving out old, outdated,or bad advice.

I don't trust factory resets, they are inherently dangerous after using custom software. Ask anyone who had experienced the joy of lilo what it's like to recover your mbr after using an ms mbr editor.

I've never used a factory reset on my OV, others have with varying degrees of success/failure. I personally don't recommend it, and have never needed it. ;)

Ok, good enough for me. You are the man.
Will edit a post and change my thinking on this subject.

hey guys, can anyone tell me the reason why my phone keep saying that it doesn't has sufficient space for my apps to update? Thanks a lot

Your apps are set to auto update and you are out of room. The phone will say that and leave some padding. I recommend link2sd

Warning- there is a bug preventing the video camera from working, will have a fix up within a couple of days, stick with the 12212011 build for now if a working video camera is a must.

First new build of 2012 BACKside is up:

BACKside-IHO-VM670-01022012.zip
md5sum 69b3dda62803304c7968e35117854927

GreenMachineTheme-01022012.zip

Changes:
-Synced with CM7.2, New LGEQualcomRIL added for better telephony support, beginings of face-detection in place in camera app (don't know if it will be implemented on CM7 or not), had to revert another CM camera commit to prevent borking it on the OV
-Switched to BobZhome's newest kernel, implements rb64's find for two-way recording in phone calls
Thanks Bob & rb64!
-Changed holiday egg to Android Baby New Year
-Added thekraven's headset mic fix, needs testing
-Added an option to change the notification dropdown's background color, choices are:
--Theme (default) --Custom Color (argb colorwheel) --Transparent (fully transparent)
Note- you can use Notification Restart from the Market to have changes take effect without rebooting. ;)
Testing needed to see how it affects various types of themes.

Next up in the never ending effort to add all theming options to the ROM, I will add the ability to change the notification dropdown category title's background color, notification item's color, and text colors. I would have waited to put up the entire notification dropdown customization package at once, but the notification dropdown background took two weeks of debugging (holidays took alot of time too ;) ). I wanted to get this build out with the new two-way recording support, so the rest of the customization package will be in the next build.

Thanks to Blarf, BobZhome, mrg666, LeslieAnn, rb64, thekraven, Whyzor, bigsupersquid, kermikalelite, the CM team, the AOSP team, and a ton of other people (really, the list goes on and on)!

Happy New Year Everyone!
