Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

if yu have another phone yu can probably call them and say yu want an ESN change. (transferring your number to the other phone) have yur line on that phone for a couple days and call back again for another ESN change and put back to your lg phone???? idk, might work?? possibly? lol

dont tell metro crap how anything happened. say my phone needs programmed. if they hear root or rom they will plug their ears and say lalala lol

NOTE: You need to have an ext partition on your sd card with my ROM, because Darktremor Apps2SD automatically moves the dalvik to the ext partition. DO THIS WITHIN CLOCKWORKMOD and be sure to back up the card to a PC first! It's not necessary to format the card every time you flash a new build.
NOTE 2: If you end up having issues, always go back and try wiping. Start fresh and see if things don't improve.
NOTE 3: It'll take awhile for everything to settle down. Especially after installing gapps and syncing accounts. Give it a few minutes to settle and reboot a couple times. The system will speed up after that.

Helpful Tips

Overclocking is available in Settings --> CyanogenMod settings --> Performance --> CPU settings. Tweak it as you like, but know this: not all OV's were created equally.

The roaming indicator fixed?

Just an idea (may be stoopid:rolleyes: or noob) so don't throw bricks my way - but what about within phone settings @ factory resetting?? Has this already been done or gives same result as NandRestore etc... Just wondering since supposedly that puts your phone back to original factory settings (maybe not in this case??) thanks :)

Have you been able to get a hold of Metro or is there a Metro store open today? If your phone is back to stock they probably won't ask you much.

BTW just noticed somedood81's new "Meid thread" and saw your post there.

Thanks - you say "had to redo flashing custom ROM again" - was this also with no # or service either?? Want to know for future reference - if at that point with no #s or service - can one go into custom recovery and reflash a custom ROM? Would that get you service again?? TIA :)

Yes as far as I know, you would/could go back into custom Recovery (I use GetItNowMarketing's recovery) or whichever you use - Remember first do Nand Back Up. Not sure if you have to wipe all or just wipe dalvik cache, cache, except not sd-ext and then flash ROM. BUT please wait to see what someone else says about this before doing. Better to make sure all done correct and get your phone in good working condition -with awesome ROM:D too.

BTW, which ROM are you flashing?

Already downloaded Bobz updated rom but will flash it after looking at couple feedbacks..

No problem, glad could be at least little help, know what it feels like, no service...

Do you know difference between CM7.1 and BobZ's ROM. TIA:) I first had Sense ROM and liked that but now wanted to try CM7.1(2.3.5) and am very very happy with it so far (no reboots). Could have been something I did wrong, because I kept having constant daily reboots when I had Sense ROM, for most everyone else it worked great.

Haven't tried my bluetooth yet, but don't use it too often. From what I've read they are always updating and trying to fix any known issues, so that's good. I'll read thru thread a little more to see if they fixed headset thing. Agreeing that Reppard's ROM is pretty smooth and I haven't noticed any screen lag at all.

Also will keep my eye out on this BobZ ROM and may try it in future. Thanks again :)

The mic issue is a known problem that is being looked into...
You have to understand that when companies like LG release source code, they don't have to release drivers. The drivers we are using are from FRO-YO, yet you are running GingerBread with this ROM. Developers do the best they can to get things to run as good as possible. More than likely the mic and screen lag will be an issue until a phone with similar parts as the Optiums comes out with GingerBread pre-installed from LG  Until then, be happy your phone is running an OS that most new phones don't have yet :D
Enjoy,
Bob

I just got 1224 on quadrant :$

Wow that's awesome. Last night, guess was a fluke, had just flashed ROM and set somethings up on phone, did Quandrant and got 1888 -tried to get screen shot but couldn't. Now am only getting about 800 or so, but will keep working with it. Slowly but soon... ;) Think it was because fresh setup and didn't really have much running yet (but felt good for time being);) :)
