Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

Something about this latest ROM, and it could just be CM7.2, is I noticed the scrolling is a bit erratic. For example, on your previous build whenever I opened the app homescreen and scrolled through the list it is smooth and has no lag whatsoever. But with the latest build when I try the same I notice a tiny but consistent skip in the scroll. It happens with any CPU governor applied and no other advanced settings seems to have an effect on it.

I will wait till CM7.2 becomes more stable as I believe it may be due to that. I hope it gets resolved! Scrolling lag is a big pet peeve of mine :P

try going to spare parts and put window animations
and transition animation on fast...if that dnt work try re-flashing..i would have to say this is the best cm rom yet...great job bob

Thanks for the help with boot.img

Edit: The mms issue is not an easy fix...but I'll have a new build this weekend with the ability to charge your phone with it off!
What day do you think you will post this update? I would like to switch to this rom but do not want to yet if there will be an update in a day or two but will if its a week from now?

Okay so I flashed this ROM and it was super duper zippy as I previously stated.. Until I restored all my text, one thread being 10,000 another being 3,000. My phone began to slow to the point of crashing apps and random reboots. I had to restore my NAND to the previos build. I really want to keep my phone running at tip shape as I rely on it greatly, but I dont want to delete these text. I use GOSMS, and wonder if maybe I could just root delete the built in messaging app which I suspect causes this and then set up GOSMS to send text? Will that work? I hope this makes sense, any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know if deleting the app will fix it but I have deleted the stock app and used gosms and you can't receive mms unless you know how to configure gosms. you can try freezing the app and see if that does any difference

Oh thank you! :0 May I ask if you configured Go Sms in any special way? Did it work just off the bat?

I just installed it and it work, but mms wont work, not because of the rom but because you need the stock app to get mms unless you configure gosms but I don't know how to

Noticed an issue. So I flashed the new ROM went through flashed the MMS patch all worked well. Then got the ICS theme. Went to test MMS again and for some reason it no longer works? So I decided to try and reflash MetrOFF and delete telephony.db, but still can't get MMS to work. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

I can't download from the market. I have insufficient space nomatter how much stuff I delete. My problem or the rom?

Go to the Market and download an app called MarketFix. It moves the market download cache to SD and fixes the issue. Afterwards you can uninstall MarketFix.

Did you try going into the APN list and selecting the metropcs option as well as setting the password to 'mymetro' (without quotes)?

Yes I did. I just don't understand why a theme would throw it off. If I take the theme off MMS starts working again.

Hrm it appears if I change the user agent to Nokia N95 MMS works again with the theme. So if anyone else runs into that issue just change the User Agent and all will work again.

I'm having weird issues with the display on the lockscreen and on the internet the top is not matched up.

Noticed a small bug with charging battery with phone turned off. If you go to turn the phone on it just goes to a black screen. You must then proceed to unplug charger to turn the phone on. Other than that I haven't experienced any new bugs.

Okay, so I did some further investigation on my problem. It turns out I was completely taking up the internal storage with all my apps not my messaging. Thus the result of the great slow down. This time upon upgrading to the ROM released on 1-5-12, I installed all my apps to the SDCARD except my home, GO SMS, and many others because when my home was put on the SDCARD it put me in a bootloop somehow by the fact it couldn't load my home before mounting my SDCARD. Everything is still super zippy, and I try to keep EVERYTHING away from the internal storage. But now I have a problem with Market, I did the MarketFix app but not my market gives me "invalid package file blah blah." And I cleared the Dalvik, market cache, and the market data. Nothing. But I deleted the market by accident trying to fix it. And now it just does not work upon re install it crashes left and right. So I hope there will be a fix for this? And then the MMS patch did nothing for me. These are the only problems I have encountered thus far. Everything else is great! I will be upgrading to the lastest ROM tonight and reflashing GAPPS to fix the market crashing. Thank you everyone! Thank you Bob! ^^

Make sure permissions are set right on market using root explorer. I had a problem with market as well. Until I grabbed the vending.apk put it in system/app/vending.apk
