Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

I need to download a root explorer online somewhere through my phone considering I didn't do so before market effed up. But thanks! I shall try your suggestion before upgrading.
 
Hey Bob like the easter eggs, Lg Model, Mod Version, Kernel Version, Build Id, Android Version and Basebrand Version ;) Would be pretty cool to see the Android Nyan Cat remake from ICS though lol. Anywho, rom running smoothly. Very Stable, the mms fix works now :D no need to delete the Telephony.db or get apn settings :D Love it!.. Well thats for me in this case. ;)
 
Please realize it is not only my ROMs/phones having these issues. A quick Google search will show you it's a Market issue on many different phones.
In terminal emulator try this fix:
su
cd /cache
mv download download.old
mkdir -p /sdcard/cache/download
ln -s /sdcard/cache/download download

No go:( It would not allow me to install for some reason. Oh well. I'll just wipe-upgrade-and reflash gapps.

Ah I see. Well I'll try your suggestion instead when I go to upgrade. I feel more comfortable with your suggestion and the command prompt then the MarketFix App.
 
Dustinito, it sounds like most of the problems you mentioned are either due to bad flashing or improper partitioning. That or somewhere along you may have forced some apps to move to external when they needed to stay internal. Which app or method are you using to move these apps to SD?

Is it also possible there are subtle differences in the phone design that can cause these things? I've flashed this ROM many times and the only stuff missing was the MMS and insufficient space installation error which are both easy fixes. But could it also be a faulty SD card?

This time upon upgrading to the ROM released on 1-5-12, I installed all my apps to the SDCARD except my home, GO SMS, and many others because when my home was put on the SDCARD it put me in a bootloop somehow by the fact it couldn't load my home before mounting my SDCARD. But now I have a problem with Market, I did the MarketFix app but not my market gives me "invalid package file blah blah." And I cleared the Dalvik, market cache, and the market data. Nothing. But I deleted the market by accident trying to fix it. And now it just does not work upon re install it crashes left and right. So I hope there will be a fix for this? And then the MMS patch did nothing for me. These are the only problems I have encountered thus far. Everything else is great! I will be upgrading to the lastest ROM tonight and reflashing GAPPS to fix the market crashing. Thank you everyone! Thank you Bob! ^^

all i did was go to terminal emulator and type in "su" then "fix_permissions" and it fixed the market problem for me :D
 
ok bobz im running your latest rom update, love it so far no problems, fixed mms is working great keep up the good work.

now im currently using my om as a wifi hotspot to power my laptop and its working very nicely, kinda faster the old dialup internet. running your rom oc 748 prl 3026, with two bars of conectivity. my question, is this avalible on all cm7 roms? as ive never noticed it before, or if i did never applied it. so im just loving your rom because i currently have no open wifi avalible, and dont have the funds to have comcast or equivalent. lol you can send me your bill for the monthly wifi usage. :P

What is left to be fixed on this rom?

I have personally added a bunch of features to my CM7 rom. A few of the new features will be in CM9, but I have included them in my CM7 build.

i dont know if mms works w/o patch. i flashed metroff from pg, and opened apns and set password.

and ofcourse cant wait for cm9, but sittin back patiently for the builds to start flowin in.

as i think about it, no mms didnt work when i first flashed the rom. but work good now after patches
 
hey bob ive used your cm7 since september and i love your work man you're the bomb like tic tic lol well my picture messages dont work on this new build and as for the market fix i got an app called eris market fix 1.7 from the market and worked like a charm i tryed your terminal fix but ended up fixing the low memory part but still got a error on the install part once again thank you for the hard work bob your the best :-)

no, to get them to work I had to flash the metroff.zip and change the apn password

Go to the Voice Dialer app, speak "APN" or "Open APN" to it, the result should be an option to Open APNs.

When you're there, you should see an item named 'metropcs' with wap.metropcs.net beneath it.

Make sure the circle or box to its side is selected to activate it. Then click on the item itself to open it and under password type 'mymetro' without quotes all one word. CLICK MENU and select Save, do not just click the Back button.

That should be it. May require a reboot or not.
 
thank you mario i got my picture messaging working now... A question for anyone who can help me, my cache folder only has 5.93mb free of memory and i found out thats the main reason it fails to install apps is cuz it has low memory in the cache folder. now my question is is there a way to move the files from there to the sd card or sd ext or any other part of the phone my internal memory is 201mb free system rom has 106 free sd card 13.6gb free and sd card (a2sd)426mb free the only thing that gets full is the cache folder that has 61.32mb total and 5.93mb free any help would be great thanks in advance

i clear the cache with the app "cache cleaner"
 
ive used that app but it doesnt clear the dalvik cache and if you do clear it nothing works plus cuz the apps use thos caches to run so i think i need to find a way to move them to sd ext thank you for the respones though :-)

I'm not sure how you've got your SD partitions set up but perhaps you can give Link2SD a try. Do you have an sd-ext partition?
 
omfg this is the best ive ever seen my phone running i have over 40 apps and not a bit of lag at all thank you mario again and bob your the shiz nit lol i dont even want to change phones at all now only thing that sucks is service lol metro!!!! :-P
 
Finally got mms working!!! After i flashed rom, rebooted, flashed the metroff.zip, open apns selected metropcs option and changed the password and rebooted. Mms still didn't work for me, so i deleted the telephony.db file and now its working great!! This rom is awesome and fast, thanx bob!! :D
 
Weird. I never flashed the patch. Or changed apns or telephony and mms works fine.. Weird... Has someone just tried deleting telephony then flashing the mms patch? Just a theory. I have doubts. But it could be worth a shot.
