Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

I also had the same problem when attempting to install apps from the market, also had the insufficient space error. Go back to page 12 of this thread and follow the instructions given by Bob on post# 576. Works perfectly. Thanks to Bob.

Try moving and/or deleting the 01mvdalvik file out of init.d, located here: /system/etc/init.d/01mvdalvik, clear market cache and data, reboot recovery, wipe cache/dalvik_cache, reboot.

Ok Tried that with Root Explorer. It wont let me move, delete, rename It says its a system file

Make sure Write permissions are enabled in Root Explorer. That solution didn't work for me though. If you still have that problem, download an app called MarketFix and open it. That solved the insufficient space error on my end.

it helps to flash the superwipe.zip before flaahing this rom especially coming from another rom.
superwipe wipes 3x and things just work better

Updated OP(first post) with new build...
Can someone test MMS, before flashing the metro fix, to see if it works.
Can someone that has the reboot problem test my ROM to see if the new kernel fixes it.
Thanks for the feed back,
Bob

I will download it and try it out this evening; seeing as how I am having all those bugs, I will definitely try it out.

MMS worked for me out of box.

Reboot problem still persists. :-(

Hey Bob, I know you helped out some dev's for the HTC Wildfire S. I was hoping you could port this ROM for the CDMA (MetroPCS version) version of the WFS. My phone is available for testing. If this ROM cannot be ported, can any NON-sense ROM be ported? I wouldn't ask, but the only dev's for the WFS work on the GSM version. We CDMA users are hung high and dry. :-(

Setting up and getting a good/stable ROM for a phone is not easy.
I was able to get the OM going because it is similar to the OV...also with the help of Reppard and Playfulgod, which both are Dev's and own the phone(very important for testing in early stages).

I only built an OC kernel for the HTC Wildfire S, no rom work.

Why not try doing it yourself? There is plenty of guides out there!

Can do. Already working from a nand backup to see if I can strip out Sense, add ASOP lockscreen/alarm clock, yank HTCLauncher for ADW, and a few other mods. But, it will be built from stock MPCS RUU at 2.3.4 as MPCS hasn't updated at all.

Also, I've asked over in the WFS forums but there doesn't seem to be anyone willing to work on the CDMA phones. Anyway, if I flash a Virgin Mobile ROM, what do I need to do to make it work on MPCS? A PRL swap and some APN modifications? I don't care if it says VMUSA all over the ROM, I just want it to work.

I have been having this problem forever since ur newest update, please put this on post #1 in big red letter in caps lock or something bcuz this is important...

I'm stuck at first LG Bootlogo with the new update. >.<
Did you try the rom I posted on post #743?

This is a market problem...If you do a google search you will see it is happening to a lot of different phone. Hopefully they fix it soon!

I just tried switching from Reppard's ROM to this one today because of the accelerometer bug. Looks like I'm going to have to wait some more.
Care to share what the problem is? Maybe it might get fixed!

Oh, it would suck then if someone came across this problem and wasn't rooted, it's such an easy fix if u r rooted :) good job Bobz, ur rom is getting better and better with each update.

When I flashed the newest ROM, my phone would just stay at the LG screen after booting. Flashed your fixed one and it boots now =)

Hey, ill test the one you posted yesterday. My phone has originally had the rebooting issues that were fixed in the 2.2.2 update. So, I'll be happy to test it. :) Also, is it OC?

I tried the ROM you posted to the op, with no joy. I will try the one that you put in post 743 later today / tonight. What change did you make to it, if you don't mind me asking?

original post did not work. tried the download in 743 and it works. thanks for your work. gotta tweak a few things, get the market/gmail/contacts back and then hopefully the fiance doesnt bother me for a new phone anytime soon. upgrading her existing phone is always better than buying a new one. thank you!

This ROM has the same accelerometer bug as reppard's?

(Youtube, Dialer, Gallery, any app that uses the accelerometer keeps using it after closing until reboot, draining the battery)

Its glitching like crazy. ...I had to flash a patch for the MMS to work, after I flashed that, mms worked perfectly, but then the status bar kept disappearing and almost every app began to force close. In all, it was quick, but unstable. I'll try to start from new again, and only flash gapps to see if the MMS patch was really causing all the mess.

Edit: ...wait, i think I got that fixed. I used the custom gapps, which also seems to be more stable. The rom feels as it should now. I set it to 768. i'll be stressing it a bit, adding an ICS theme. =) haha. I used the MMS patch again, but its too late to be sending pics to people, so ill try that in the am. So far, I like this. ...Might be a keeper.
