Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

Ok, one thing I have noticed. It's just a minor thing really, but a bug none the less. I have the lock screen sounds setting checked, but yet when I lock the screen, it doesn't make the clicking sound, or any other sound for that matter, that i'm expecting.

Actually it does, you just have to hit the sleep button from the status bar Widgets when you wanna lock your phone. Found this out last night. PS, you have to add it from cyanogen mod settings > interface > notification power Widgets.

I did that, and tried it out (once I put the sleep into my notification bar). I still don't get the lock sound though. I checked the volume settings for notifications and media. Both are of sufficient level that I should be able to hear it.

I noticed another bug. If I change my settings (like the checkboxes) to much for the status bar, the settings tends to freeze up and I have to restart my phone for me to be able to change anything without it reverting back to what I had before.

Some one asked about battery life in an earlier post. I had mine plugged in most of the day, until about 4 pm. I then unplugged it and went to work. While there I used it a little bit, but nothing very strenuous. It's now 8 hours later and I am only down to 59%.

I have gotten great battery life from this rom so far. I didnt think the beta cm7 had terrible battery life, not much worse than stock, but this rom has greatly improved battery life.

Something else I just found: my corded headset doesn't work. I know it's a good headset 'cause I can use it in my work Blackberry, and I've used it with this Optimus M on the stock ROM, Aplus ROM and the Sense ROM. I can hear my wife talking to me, but she can't hear me when I talk. So, something in the ROM that reads the fact that the headset it plugged in (I do get the little icon in the notifications bar that the headset is attached) isn't set right and it isn't allowing outgoing voice over the headset.

Has anyone had problems with gmail sync or with message updates from the phandroid app on this rom?? I literally have to hit refresh or resync everytime I check those apps.

The overclock kernel that we used on the GBCM7 beta seems to be what is causing wi-fi connection issues....however, I switched to the "any rom" r.o.ck. kernel (sense rom users typically use this one) and I've had astounding results including a much more stable device! :) (The mms patch works with this kernel as well!!!)

And yeah...here's how to change kernels without wiping your rom.
Follow these steps closely!!! (READ EVERYTHING BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS)

1. Place the new kernel zip on the root of your SDcard or somewhere you can easily find it in recovery.
2. Reboot into recovery
3. WIPE the Dalvik Cache
4. Wipe the Cache
5. Disable signature verification
6. Find your new kernel, flash, and enjoy

Note that when wiping the Dalvik cache that it takes longer to boot the phone back up as the Dalvik cache has to rebuild. Expect to be watching your bootanimation for several minutes. For those who wish to install the mms patch; this cannot be done until the phone reboots after installing the new kernel!!!

Good Luck!!:)

I've run into a horribly annoying bug. I can no longer switch input devices. When I goto settings I cant even un select anything, it reverts back when I exit the screen. Nothing I do will switch input devices...

I guess I should have made it clear in that thread but any version other than the anyrom 0.3 is obsolete :) it should work for any and all roms. I udated the OP with only the link to that and the source.

Thanks for that information. Think I'll try that (probably tomorrow 'cause it's gonna be late tonight when I get off work making peoples coffee and frappuccinos).

If anyone else has an issues with not being able to change input devices I have a solution. Gotta boot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache. Holy crap does this rom take forever rebuilding cache with apps installed, pack a lunch.

Just a friendly reminder to those installing the mms patch: You must have 2 or more signal bars to send/receive texts. Data/3g doesn't play a part in the SMS system. So just because you live in a dead zone (like me) doesn't mean it doesn't work...
