Root [ROM][WIP]CM7.2.0 RC1-BobZ

If anyone else has an issues with not being able to change input devices I have a solution. Gotta boot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache. Holy crap does this rom take forever rebuilding cache with apps installed, pack a lunch.

heh.. i put CM7.2 on my sons Huawei Ascend yesterday.. takes FOREVER to boot without rebuilding dalvik lol

Thanks for posting that link...the only reason I still had it was cuz I'm a file hoarder...lmao! I store unused files on dropbox.

Just a friendly reminder to those installing the mms patch: You must have 2 or more signal bars to send/receive texts. Data/3g doesn't play a part in the SMS system. So just because you live in a dead zone (like me) doesn't mean it doesn't work...

Yeah that makes it tough for me to debug. I am working on my own build and I consistently have zero to no bars at my house. I can make calls, data works, but no matter what mms will not work!

So that is what use then? Good. I will try that.

Lol, I'm a file hoarder too. I just recently got a drop box account, but haven't really started to use it. Plus, I only have the free 2GB; I didn't purchase any extra space.

By changing input devices, do you mean the keyboard?

Yes indeed...it works like a charm. At my job I actually get 4-5 bars and my girlfriend is kind enough to help me test out things like that by sending pics and music...and btw clearing the dalvik does help with the keyboard issue but its only temporary. Over time that bug tends to show its face again making it hard to adjust the cyanogenmod settings

Here's a little trick I use to get signal @ home: Go to cyanogenmod settings>display>180 degrees and check that box. Now turn the device upside down and only hold the handset with your fingers, towards the sky. Also near a window!!! The antenna is under the battery!

I forgot this: go to the stock messenger open the settings menu, and check <auto retrieve while roaming>. Also go the system settings and select wireless settings. Then go to mobile networks at the bottom and select both roaming options. (Data and international)

Yes. After so many keyboard changes it just stops working. Only way I have discovered to fix it is clearing dalvik cache, and as tweek said thats only a temp fix.

I've been having a hard time getting any xbmc remote to work. I have 2 boxes that run xbmc and I usually have no problem controlling either, tonight I was so fed up trying to get either one to connect I gave up, then like 2 minutes later I pick up my phone and it's connected. Never had issues like this.

And what do you do when the setting don't stick? I can't be the only one that's having issues with changing settings only to find out they did nothing. Every time I try this, I click the button and back out of the setting and go back in and it's unchecked. This problem is directly related to my keyboard issue...

Now I have no DNS. I have SetDNS installed and when I open it up there are no dns servers currently being used and when I try to set it to use google or opendns it doesn't work. There is no dns server set at all, no internet access. I can connect to other computers inside my network, but nothing needing dns....

Well, I'm having mixed results with mms. I've sent my wife 2 pictures, a couple of hours apart. The first one said it sent and she did get it. The second one just kept saying sending, but she got it. My phone just never told me it sent. She tried to send me a picture from her phone (Optimus M rooted, but with stock 2.2 ROM and only bloatware removed). After several minutes, she'd get a message saying that the message has either expired or is not available.

The over clocking is working well though, using the R.O.C.K 0.3 anyROM kernel.

Sorry I've checked in all things root/newer threads and can't find the 7.2v. Can you please post a link or direct me where - thanks much :)

I believe it says cyanogenmod7 for ms690. BUT WAIT!
when you flash the Rom you must.

1st. Delete ROM manager from the phone. (Using titanium backup etc.)

2nd. Reboot and install reppards R.o.C.k kernel and mms fix.

Then all should work :D
