i forget who made the fix but it should be in the next nightly. issac showed us on myascend.org but i don't know if it's been implemented yet.

it should. did you hide it by accident or uninstall with titbu.

oh, as for apps not to install you can run the batch "restore user apps" and you won't get the 2.1 apps you backed up from the system.
 
i flashed back to cm7, just restored to the 3-30 update
didnt wipe anything and just updated to 4-03
i went to settings about phone, it says its 4-03
so all the updates are done right, i didnt HAVE to wipe correct?

only if you want your keyboard and browser in english and you like using your apps.

I hid the Gallery and a Wallpaper App with Hidden App. Hidden App worked fine on Icarus but malfunctioned on CM7. It deleted my Gallery and the Wallpaper App. Is there a way to get the Gallery App back?

LaucherPro always force closes on reboot. :mad:

might be more than that...i did a little exp a week or so ago. I put the mms.apk in the system folder using root explorer, and no sooner i hit paste, BOOM force closes back to back back to back could not even get back to the main screen, had to rake battery out and reflash, so im guessing some info from metro server have to be configure for this rom....dont try what i did you will kick yourself.:eek::eek::eek: LOLZ

No, that means that instead of using the prebuilt Eclair (2.1) libs, I've made the (pain in the ass) switch to Qualcomm's own open-source drivers. You can't fix something that is prebuilt.

For my CS1 and CS2 classes, I'm working on a project that will behave like a desktop version of ROM Manager. I hope to have the same scope and goals as the Cyanogen project, just with a different product. I'm pretty much moving on to that. I've been collaborating with Pip2kk and most of the fixes I come up with (or vice versa) work better on CM6. CM6 really is the sweet spot for Ascend users. CM7/2.3 is a nice dream, but I don't have the time, knowledge and skills necessary to make it 100% functional. Mostly, it's a time issue. I recommend people to use CM6 as it's getting pretty good and Pip is still very active with that project.

In other news, I'm actually close to putting out another build. There's a fix for the infamous "Roaming Indicator Off" but and I'm trying to cut as much fat off of CM7 so that the Ascend has a little more room to breathe.

I've been working on an Mms fix, but the problem is I'm catering to 2 carriers. Both of which decided to have their own specific configurations for sending and receiving Mms. Besides the fact that I can't test Mms (I haven't had Metro service for more than 2 months now), I'm not about to alienate one carrier over another because of Mms.

Kinda saw the CM6 thing coming, and have been keeping an eye on it. I am in awe of what you managed to do to date, and thank you for your work and for helping to see CM6 to a finished stage. You are the man. End of story.
 
yes cm6 is sweet and so is cm7, i been alternating them both and a big thanks to pip and isaac, but if no mms is fix, its no biggie we all appreciate all the work you all have did....;)
 
I actually like cm7 and if the only think that doesnt work is mms I can live with that. I may flash the latest cm6 n give it a try for a day or too. I like latest n greatest tho lol

New build is up 04052011

EDIT: I'll probably be helping out Pip if he needs anything. I'll probably fall back to CM6. Like I said, it's the sweet spot for the Ascend.
