Anyone still having MMS problems should try APN MANAGER by 81 square,from the ANDROID MARKET.Very simple fix for my CM7 CRICKET MMS issues.

For now,I deleted GOOGLE MAPS 5.5.X & sideloaded version 5.3.1 per ISAACJ87's recommendation.

I just selected the appropriate carrier,(CRICKET or METRO PCS),mine being CRICKET,activated APN & left the rest of the settings alone.So far,SMS/MMS works,was able to attach an article & successfully sent & received the MMS to a NON-CRICKET phone.Currently testing w/a CRICKET to CRICKET MMS. Will post results as soon as possible.


UPDATE:Successfully sent & received an MMS containing a video attachment from one CRICKET phone to another. 100% SMS/MMS Success!
 
i have cricket. my problem after successfull cm7 install, the next day i noticed that i didnt have any wifi, so i went to turn in on and scan for my network and it went into that blue android skateboarding bootloop. so i tried to hit the combo of buttons to get it to open up cwm recovery and accidently hit the "vol up/end/power" which opened a "unpacking firmware update" and reset my phone to the beginning. no contacts no call logs no apps, only the bloatware crud. but it must have missed some files or something cause now i can make phone calls and get texts, thankfully. but internet and market no longer work. i can see and connect to my wifi but still doesnt let internet page load. so, my z4root app and my clockwork and the cm7 zip and gapps zip and all my apps are still on my sd apparently, but i can only see them thru my usb/comp. i am stuck and dont know what to do. does anyone have any suggestions?
 
Are there any known bugs/features that don't work or work well with the newest CM7 for Cricket? I want to flash to a mod that is the fastest possible, but don't want any errors or bugs that will frustrate me (had enough of that with stock!) ALSO: will PDAnet work with CM7??

I suggest backing up your current ROM & try out all the ROMS.If stability is your utmost priority w/100% functionality,go w/ICARUS 1.1
From what I've read,CM6 is 100% functional as well,consult the CM6 thread for more info & feedback from CM6 users.

I'm currently running CM7 05212011 & used the app APN MANAGER by 81 square(in the market)to solve my only issue,(MMS).Everything else works!

Do you use PDAnet? Does it work w/ CM7?

Lol lucky you bro mines lazy as a sloth, i've tried so many ways to install CM7 but nothing hmmm im trying to find out info on how to fix a LAZY ASCEND but not much help i dont want to start looking for other sources on roms because i trust isaacj87 and he has done amazing work so i really want to get CM7 on mine and if i cant than I'll stick with Icarus no way in heck will i ever be going back to stock, which reminds me i did go back to stock to see if that would help but still it didn't i even tried CM6 but no luck i honestly wont stop until i fix this phone lol although im also thinking about selling it to my uncle since he likes it so much and just get another ascend since their like $50 (w/ a new line) and just give my girl my old Samsung Messenger and hope i don't get a lazy ascend lol

my cuz had a lazy ascend also, had flash it twice today and on third install it finally booted, but when i wipe data factory rest and cache, i also formated it again under formats, than i went to advance and rebooted recovery and did it once more of wiping and formating, than started installing cm7,gapps,metro off and it work...

So i should:
Wipe Date/Factory reset
Wipe Catch
Wipe Dalvik Catch
and go into Mounts and Storage and Format:
Boot
Data
System
Catch
Then go into Advance - Reboot Recovery and do it all once more correct?

Did you Flash CM7, Gapps, and MetrOFF at the same time?

thank you :) what benefits exactly does this give me? i saw it speeds up your phone and such which would really help. but mainly i want to do this because a friend told me it would unlock more features to my phone and said its possible to use an app and emmit wifi from my phone so i can play my ps3 on it. is their a link to a guide of how to use the features and what not to do?

Rooting the phone just gives you user right/admin control over your phone, and you can use titu to freeze/uninstall bloatware on the phone to give it a little more kick and free up memory, and with free up memory you phone will be less laggy. but also install one of these rom icarus,cm6/7 will def give you what your looking for....A Better Phone.:D
 
I have a two part question:
If you upgrade to the official 2.2 on Metro, can you flash cm7 afterward?
If so, will it be any better performance-wise? Just a thought.
 
ahh ok so i saw ppl were talkin about backin up your phone...does the free version of titu do that? or do i need to save it to my computer somehow? also how do i download icarus is it in the guide u gave me? sorry for all the Qs im completely walkin into this blind just want to make sure i dont mess up or somethin

yes, just make sure you wipe everything and format everything Not the sdcard.

free version will uninstall it, and the paid version will freeze it, but you can use the free version and uninstall it, you can always revert back to stock if you ever need to, just remember never uninstall anything with google, there is also a list to show you whats safe to delete.
 
I changed from cm6 to CM7 this weekend, and it looks great, but it seems so much slower than cm6 was. I had both overclocked to 710. Has anyone else noticed this?
