Root [ROM][WIP] CyanogenMod 7 | Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) | Current Version: 09122011

ok since i got frustrated with the no a2sd on the official metro update i decided to go back to cm7, but it go stuck on restoring cache, im trying it a second time. has anyone run into this yet?

update the second time failed again, i reinstalled 2.1 as per the guide on here and now im going back to cmr and going back to cm7 for now. so for those of you who did the official update from the website you probably will run into issues as well if you try to go back to other saved roms.

I have the latest build and everything is running fine however, when I check my voicemail, I'm greeted with a Verizon voicemail box.
Alerts are coming to my phone from MetroPCS, I just need to know if there is a setting that I need to change so I can get to the MetroPCS inbox.

Thanks!

PHONE IS ALL SCREWED UP NOW, WILL NOT LET ME MAKE A BACK UP WITH CMR 2.1.5.8 IT WILL GO UNITL THE LAST PART WHEN BACKING UP CACHE AND JUST SIT THERE. i even deleted the files for cmr off phone and put back on from comp incase something got corrupted and still nothing. so im unable to flash into any other roms besides stock 2.1. any ideas guys? this is killing me

Do you have your backups from before?

Go into Advanced restore and restore the cache. If that works then try a full restore of your back up.

I hope this helps. Let us know.

Is there a way to reset the APN for cricket? all of a sudden I can't receive MMS and I am not re flashing again,I've done it once since I couldn't receive MMS, it just says unsuccessful, i can send them however

Download APN MANAGER by 81 square in the ANDROID MARKET.Select CRICKET as your provider, activate & leave the rest of the settings alone & you should be good to go.

I just selected the appropriate carrier,(CRICKET or METRO PCS),mine being CRICKET,activated APN & left the rest of the settings alone. So far,SMS/MMS works, was able to attach an article & successfully sent & received the MMS to a NON-CRICKET phone.Currently testing w/a CRICKET to CRICKET MMS. Will post results as soon as possible.

UPDATE:Successfully sent & received an MMS containing a video attachment from one CRICKET phone to another. 100% SMS/MMS Success!

Even though i have metro I was curious if you could receive mms from a non cricket carrier? I have gotten all aspects of the mms to work using apn manager except for receiving pictures from other carrier. The mms will show as downloading but will never fully download.

Interesting enough when I flashed backed to factory and loaded APN manager I noticed there are two totally different APN settings for Metro from whats in the Stock APN settings and the APN manager software. At this point I am trying to figure out where the stock apn manamger loads it apn settings from. It's not the telephony.db file not the apn xml file from what I can tell by looking at the two compared to whats loaded by default.

Ok so i tried three more times and still nothing...
I tried it your way Nuttmeg i even rebooted 3-4 more times and kept wiping/formatting everything but nothing this is driving me up the wall haha hmm i gotta find another way hmmm

i deleted the cmr from teh sd card thinking maybe somehow it got corrupted so now i have no more saves. wouldnt have mattered anyway since through cmr it wont let me make a back up anymore, everything stops when it comes to either backing up cache or restoring cache.

On stock, the end call button would just take you back to home, now its just acting like the power button, While it handy to have the power button down there, I need that button to take me back to home. I know I can hold down the arrow key and it does the same thing, but that is just annoying. Any way to change this back?

lol The most common question I've read about CM7, and one I had to ask too. Go to apps, and start the Spare Parts app. You'll find end button behavior there.

Anyone still having MMS problems should try APN MANAGER by 81 square, from the ANDROID MARKET.Very simple fix for my CM7 CRICKET MMS issues.

That didnt work at all for me :(

Im on cricket... But it seems more n more ppl are havin probs...I wonder if its because of the merge with pocket?! Cuz I know they are trying to get rid of pocket service altogether while trying to "merge" their towers :/ smh @ crickets nonsense

finally someone wit the same problem

After 5 days of trying to figure this out I just flashed back to CM6. MMS works out the box with that build. What I don't understand is when I flash to CM6, Open up the APNs manager, MetroPCS does not have a green light by default but by not even turning it on I can still send and get MMS correctly so does it pull from the telephony.db file by default because the manager reflects the apn xml file info I think. ...or is there a hidden or unknown file because the factory build reflects neither the xml or db file information as it has no apn, username, password or apn type.

@Ashley I would conclude the overall problems for those whom the fix will not work for is related to the CM7 build and not the carriers. If you were to go back to CM6 that would verify my assumption.
