Need help. Phone will not boot past the white android screen. I can boot into recover, but its stock. I have no clue what to do. Just want to remain stock. Can someone please help me out. Please and thank you.

can someone please help me. I just need a recovery that will work with the stock recovery, or something please. I called ZTE and they want me to send them my phone. I need this phone to work.

A backup is not a recovery and neither is a rom. People need to learn the correct terms here cause I've seen people brick their damn phones because they didn't know the correct terms and flashed the wrong file. If you call a backup of the stock rom a "stock recovery" and I put up a link for a zip that flashes the actual stock recovery (the thing that factory resets your phone and installs official updates where you use the volume and power buttons to navigate and select options) you might brick your phone and flash my file thinking that it will fix things when in fact it will only make it where you are unable to fix it.

I don't know who started calling "stock roms" and "stock rom backups" "stock recoveries" but it needs to stop now and it only serves to cause confusion. Also @Justin588 unless you turned on USB debugging in developer options and have a pc with adb installed and granted it authorization to send commands to your phone there is no way for anyone but zte to fix it.
If you soft brick your phone and you don't have TWRP recovery installed (the actual recovery not the app) it is almost impossible to fix it yourself. Your only hope at that point is adb. In order to be able to do anything with adb you have to have a pc with adb installed, enable USB debugging in developer options, and connect your phone to your pc and grant authorization to your pc BEFORE you mess up your phone. Unless you have done that, you are 100% completely SCREWED if you soft brick your phone and don't have TWRP recovery installed.

So what do I need to do to fix this. I haven't done anything but try to do a factory reset. I was trying to use the ROOT process on the first pages, the KingRoot. I was running the program when the phone reset and now I can't get it past the ZTE Grand X Max+ white boot screen. I know I don't have a custom recovery on this phone, was in the process of getting there. If someone could please help me out, I just need this phone to work again please. I don't see ow m knowing the difference between anything should hinder what you can do to assist people with any problems on the phone.

You are saying that kingroot bricked your phone?
I don't see ow m knowing the difference between anything should hinder what you can do to assist people with any problems on the phone.
The way it hinders my ability to help people is because if someone flashes something they shouldn't because they don't know what they are doing or talking about it might make their phone unfixable. For example, if you know the difference between a nandroid backup and a recovery then you won't flash the stock recovery in an attempt to fix your phone. I've seen multiple people brick their devices because they deleted their OS then flashed the stock recovery in an attempt to fix their phone. This just gave them a permabrick that can't be fixed by anyone but the manufacturer. This does not have any bearing on your specific situation, I'm just answering your question and explaining why it is very important to know the correct terminology.

Agreed. I would suggest to anyone in the future who buys this phone and wants to Root it, follow the procedure in the beginning pages. Root with kingroot, install twrp, do nandroid backup and use the script to hardboot. After hardboot, you have root privileges but I always reinstall twrp just to be on safe side. Then leave you're phone alone until Masterchief can help us. Patients.

Ok I have the same problem Justin588 have. I can go into Android system recovery Z787V1.2.10 ... My phone just boot loops.

Did you find away to fix?

Hey everyone, I just got a new zmax today which this one can be rooted so I should be able to finish making and testing the stock ROM I was working on along with zips for mounting system rw without uninstalling twrp recovery. I'm gonna start messing around with grand x max+ stuff tonight after work.

Anything you can do to help us with this phone is appreciated.

OK so the first thing I'm making is a 100% factory stock ROM for people who want to sell their phone or need to get a warranty exchange. I'm zipping it up now and will be uploading it shortly as soon as I make sure all is working well. Since my phone is a Z970(Zmax)I need someone with a Z987 to test it as well before I post it publicly.

I just had to redo everything lol cause I removed all the kinguser binaries from /system and /system/xbin but forgot to remove kinguser.apk from/system/app also, I'm doing all this with no PC so it is very time consuming.
