Root Root for Fierce 2?

here is the screenshot
Aye, bricked your phone eh? Best thing to do when that happens is to take it to a hardware specialist, but if you wanna fix it on your own, I'd search it up, but beings this is a new phone, try applying the update on your computer, fingers crossed mate, good luck!

Heh, those damned phone operators, never get you what you need do they? Tried calling one of em to make a deal to get the bootloader unlock code, that didn't work. Still I will not give up!

But even if you get the bootloader unlock code there is still no way to fastboot the phone. Maybe tclmobile is willing to help since they build the phone.

Hey guys i took a crack at manually rooting with ADB, and got 1 step closer. I managed to sucessfully store su, and all the necessary files in /data/local/tmp but when i type in ./psneueter.bin i get an error: mmap failed. Invalid argument.

/data/local/tmp isn't making progress. Anyone is able to place things there. It's getting su and busybox to where they need to be; but without making the system writable we can't. I've tried every method to get rw to no avail. We need an app that can enable permissions to write them to their respective places.

I have contacted TCL Mobile, and prepared an offer of over 500 USD for the bootloader code, and a way to fastboot the phone. I doubt they're going to accept it though...

Have you tried the SDK tools? I havent yet, and i'm not sure if they work, btw i am now getting another error: ./psneuter.bin cant execute: Permission denied

Not sure what you mean, but when I was looking at a site earlier; one of those pop-ups said, "Your Pop C7 could be at risk." I think we need to look at the Pop C7 and see if they have anything going on and try to get somewhere with it.

The Pop C7 is MTK, i dont think we might get to far with that, one of the options is vroot (iroot) but it fails, btw SDK: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

to everyone i have honestly spent the whole day trying to root this thing and i can 99.99% guarantee that this phone is unrootable at the time of this posting.I have tried all root methods since jelly bean i have full adb working with this phone and have tried to bring other phones root methods to ours so until now its officially unrootable in my book. Our best bet is for someone to find an exploit such as geo hot or j case .I would recommend following the zte zmax thread and whirl 2 thread as they are the closest phones also the tracfone version of this phone any other "c7 pop" phones are MTK so rooting is a cake walk for those phones. Also try to read all the pages because i have seen the same root suggestion about 4 times SRS DOESN'T WORK.My last suggestion is someone trying the temp root for the whirl 2 on their fierce 2 its temporary but our hardware is similar and im exhausted trying to root this phone.I went from Linux and back to windows trying all methods under the sun and the Chinese and Russian suns i mean forums.

Well i found that our devices is vulnerable to CVE-2014-7911 and CVE-2014-4322.

Info
CVE-2014-7911
CVE-2014-4322

This is a test apk if you run it and your device turns off then you are vulnerable to CVE-2014-7911
APK-Download

MY DEVICE IS VULNERABLE BUT I HAVE NOT INSTALLED THE LAST OTA.

The only problem is that in order to use this to gain root we need to use both bugs or CVE-2014-7911 and another device specific bug . maybe CVE-2014-8609

Some developers already used CVE-2014-7911 to root the Huawei Ascend Mate 7.
Mate-7-Root-XDA

All the necessary exploits exist to root this device we need a developer with the know how to put it together for this device, There is no other way all other public roots are patched .

It really is a nice phone.. I have had to factory reset it a couple times trying to get rid of the google search bar by disabling google search, then i lost my mic icon and ability to use voice input for the same reason. I would love to have it rooted but mostly for the recovery options/ nand backup. someone was offering a phone earlier in the post to have one of the masters out there to test on.

phone companies are missing out by not offering a "rooted at your own risk" option for $25-$50 more

Not sure if this could help at all, but when you set an alarm and the phone is off, it "turns on" and you have your background and it ask you to dismiss or power on. In this mode my PC sees it, but ADB does not. Could an exploit be carried out from there? Also it shows up as a com port sometimes could qpst somehow flash a custom recovery?
