Root Root Zte warp elite N5918

Not sure yet it's just a step of many but it seems like a step. I still can't mount /system as read write though still working on a type of backdoor command

Yeah man one step closer maybe maybe not we will see. I'm still working on a way to execute that python code I found I tried running it at boot but no luck king root doesn't even reboot my phone anymore lol after I found that command
 
You do not have Root unless the spot that says "$" is a "#" instead

Hey, I think that I might have found that recovery mode (yes I'm using a ZTE Warp Elite N9518)that you're looking for...
I'm not sure if it'll be of much help if you've already found it but how to get to is is by:
1. Hold power button and volume down keys until phone shuts off (it will take a screenshot first but ignore that)
2. Keep holding until ZTE logo appears, at that point release the power button but keep holding volume down button until the menu that can be somewhat seen in my super shitty picture appears

Your system may indeed be write protected, ZTE has done that with other models before. The whole system was write protected on certain models so any Modz need be done via recoveries with those deals. You can't just uninstall bloatware on write protected systems, you'd have to build & install a custom recovery, then make a backup & pull a stock ROM to deodex, debloat &/or customize.. then reFlash with recovery. If the bootloader isn't massively locked down, I can make the kernel insecure & add init.d support (add a few scripts if you'd like). I'm gonna put it like this, if anyone gets Root and sends me the files I need below I'll build stock ROMs with any/all deBloating requested.
I need image copies of:
- system.img
- boot.img
- recovery.img

Send me these and I should have Stock Modified/Unmodified ROMs ready ASAP. I'm gonna be downloading stuff for further delving into kernels and recoveries today/tomorrow.. Who knows, Maybe I'll get to do you guys a TWRP or something..?? Do I know how to make a TWRP yet? No. But I'm learning. Can I do the init.d support for the kernel? Yes, no problem. [emoji41]
Another thing - I know several ppl that want an Elite but the only thing holding them back is lack of Root.
 
Okay, so I tried that and once I got the command prompt adb connected to my phone and directed to the location of the update.zip I used
"apply update from adb" on my n9518
then I used "adb sideload update.zip" on my pc
and my n9518 said this

Now send the package you want to apply to the device with "adb sideload <filename>"...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:footer is wrong
E:Signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
 
Do any of you know where I could find the android 5.1 update.zip file specifically for the n9518?
I'll keep searching for it in the meantime.
 
Any chance I could hook it up to my pc and access the cache folder? I can access generally 9\10 items in the phone files on my pc, not just sd data. I will take a look and see if I can get the stock 5.1 file.
 
Just an idea not sure if it will work but in our bootloader we can ciew recovery logs correct couldnt we use those to create a custom recovery or find holes in the code somewere?

I've been on the phone with ZTE.. It's been locked from the inside out. Need Root to access bootloader, Fastboot, as well as need Root to get copies of boot.img , recovery.img in order to make a custom recovery and flash a SuperSu.zip for permanent Root until I make those stock ROMs after + when you guys get/upload the files I requested
 
@RoyalTryHardd I was talking to you buddy. Can we use something like lucky patched to disable signature verification? And we should be able to find the current update using a PC then looking at the code that way possible ZTE?
