are you unzipping the file? it needs to be zipped. also are you placing it on the root of the card? (no folders)

ok just to make sure that the file looks correctly. this is a pic of my renamed amon ra file:
that will be up to you. odexed is smaller and faster, but harder to theme. de-odexed is larger, maybe a tad slower, but a lot easier to theme. i always go for the odexed version, but that is up to you. personally i would try mikg 2.59. it is a waaaaaay better then the stock rom and it has taken care of the security issue that the latest ota has done as well. it has all of the bloatware removed and has the hotspot hacked. check it out. it is found in the roms/kernel sticky.
I wanted to throw in my 2 cents on the superwipes. Once you switch to amon ra throw that superwipe away. IMO they are pointless and I don't trust them because I would rather do my own wiping, don't like others wiping for me.
When flashing a rom just go into amon ra and wipe everything in that list EXCEPT SD Card (for obvious reasons) and then flash your rom. You can wipe more than once if you want, some debate about it, I only wipe 1 time and have NEVER had an issue.
I think many people just depend on those superwipes and don't do the proper wiping. Again just my opinion, to each their own and if it works for you, great.

I wipe 3 times each, then flash vrsuperwipe twice.
Of course I still use clockwork recovery.
I really need to switch, just haven't had time. I also never have problems when I flash roms and kernels. I haven't had 1 problem with cw recovery since I rooted my phone. I'm using the 2.6.x version, works fine. I run my ritual, and my fix is taken care of.

well i tired it out flashed it with your steps got it running ...good practice run for me.
but how do i go back before i flashed? but before i do when i made a backup does it save test messages i had on phone?? bookmarks?(not really important)
you can just do a nandroid backup restore (hopefully you made one before flashing the rom).
and yes a nandroid backup is a complete snapshot of your phone. so all of your settings including texts messages will be saved.
yeah i did followed ur steps lol ...do i have to do anything before a restore? just head to recovery and restore? that simple?
yep that is it. pretty simple. no need to wipe as it will do that as it is loading the nandroid because it also saves your previous dalvik cache and cache and thus wiping your current ones.
can you be more specific? what is it doing? i just rooted my 3vo with no issues generating the beta key.i did get the "invalid beta key" when i entered it in the command window. what i did for that was to use notepad++. i copied the beta key revolutionary gave me then i pasted it in notepad++. then i copied it from notepad to the command window. if you right click on the top left corner of the command window, you will get a drop down window. just navigate to the edit option and then select paste. it took me like 5-6 tries at it, but it finally works.
well i just went to the site and i clicked on the windows version and it downloaded revolutionary and a window popped up on the site asking for my onfo. so not sure what is happening on your end. you need to be on the website to enter the info and then the beta key will be given to you there.
weird have you tried it on another computer? or use a different browser? that is odd, i never heard of this issue before.
Super frustrating. I got it to work on the phone, wrote down the key, triple checked that I was right, won't work. So I go back and try again, now the popup won't come back. ????

Does it log the IP's and only let one key per? Tried clearing cookies, disabling anti-virus, still nothing. I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and wasn't aware of the key generator, so if it did log IP addresses, that would make some sense.

In case this problem creeps up for anyone else. I unplugged my modem, unhooked from the router, and plugged the PC directly into the modem. Then the key generator pop-up showed up on the Revolutionary site. I guess they do limit by IP address. Weird. Anyhoo, all rooted, thanks for the help!

Thanks a billion for the detailed guide. Made it easy-er! Didn't get it right the first time but not because the guide wasn't good, I thought I was smart and skimmed through. Second time was a breeze, snicker!!! Wrote an article about the process and directed people to your guide as a "must read/follow". Again, thanks for taking the time to do this for everyone!!!!!
hey thanks to everyone i read from page 1 to 31 lol i was leary of rooting more like scared haha but i did it first try no problems a few budweisers and a couple of 7 and 7's and some pandora radio on stone temple pilots channel and success thanks again now off to find a rom hahaha
