I'm using it. But using the stock CM. Don't feel like tinkering with Kernels.
I am looking for anyone who has ROOTED via MAC with unrEVOked 3.21.. If anyone has used a MAC, let me know. I want to add a MAC version to the Thread. Thanks!
----------------
Also, everyone who uses ROMs and KERNELs.. If you don't mind, post your opinions of your experience with each.
Please be tasteful and polite about your review. I want to post them in the Tutorial so other Rooters can know what they are about to FLASH.
Copy and Past which ever you are reviewing.
If you are going to review the ROM and KERNEL, please use two different reviews. Do not review them in the same write-up.

YOUR IMPRESSION OVERALL OF THE ROM/KERNEL:
Include some of these in your review..

And of course, whatever else you want to add in your review.
Post it or send me a PM and it will almost surely go up in my User Review Section that is coming soon..
I rooted via Unrevoked 3.21 on a mac!
I will be sending you a PM shortly!
I've been told that rooting isn't necessary in order to tether outside of Sprint's control via PdAnet etc.. so is there an advantage in terms of rooting where tethering is concerned then?
One more question. Is it necessary to root and use different ROM's in order to modify the GUI, and if so, to what extent? I mean, are third party launchers and such only available for those with different ROM's ? If not, and all that is possible with the stock ROM and such, are there threads which go into detail about how to apply these changes to the GUI and how to use them etc ?
Thanks!
Doug
After flashing a ROM, kernals, or anything else that has to be flashed, do you need to keep the .zip files on your SD card or can you delete them?

It depends. If its build 3.30 or up, it isn't possible to root yet. But don't fret, we'll get root for it soon.

This Thread is so educational. Thanks to everyone! But I need some help.
I rooted my Evo and downloaded the Wireless Tether app. Everything seems to be going well expect that my laptop cannot connect to my device. My device is listed on my laptop as a wireless network, however, when I try to connect it takes a long time then it times out. Does anyone know what I can do about this? Please help.
Are you using the latest version? If not, download it here: Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code
Do you have encryption on or off? If it is on try turning it off for a test.
I downloaded the updated wireless tether app and now my laptop connects to my device, however, I still don't have access to the internet. I'm getting no activity.
I enabled wifi encryption but still nothing.
Try disabling encryption and enabling Access-Control. When your laptop connects you will get a notice in the notification area on your phone. Drop that down and click on the laptop connection and see if you get Internet connection at that point.
I am using pre 12 with win xp with stock ROM and it is working for me.
