Samsung Fascinate Lounge

OK Samsung, we get it...you're slow at getting updates out. Seriously, it's been a good run, but you can go ahead and release Froyo (or Gingerbread) to us now, because this is getting ridiculous. Not only did I miss out on all the Google apps benefits from Froyo, now they've been overhauled yet AGAIN and I'm left in the dust! I still can't even select text out of emails!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

We at Samsung appreciate your concern. Please know we are working diligently to get updates out to you in the near future. ;)

Thanks, I feel better now saps. Just had to get that out I guess.
I sometimes almost forget about froyo it makes the time go faster. Now I have adjusted my own personal date of anticipation to February when I get my tax refund too then I'll have two reasons to :D. And if it gets here before Feb even better but I've given up seeing it this month/year

Speaking of which if memory serves this is the 3 month anniversary by the release of the SF and thus of my owning it too. Wow what ride. Never dreamed I would be 3 months into ownership without froyo though like Kabob said. Oh well, with where things are in terms of roms and kernels and themes and add-ons Im pretty content...or at least trying to see the glass as half full :)

Or go the engineer way and say the glass is twice as big as it needs to be :D

Alright, so I finally got DJ05 on my phone, but when I tried adding Battery_D it freaked out on me. Restoring now.. Which reminds me - are the time stamps on nandroid backups off? It doesn't seem right to me, plus I should have two from today and it showed one today and one a while ago.

Second, should these battery icons work for me now, or do I need to flash a ROM that has it, like SuperDark?

DJ05, DJ05_clean-0.7, geeknik's stupidfast 1.76

Thanks ahead of time, still such a nublet with this stuff lol.

I thought I saw you in there today. I wasnt in live when you were but like so many others i leave a tab open with it on 24/7.
Anyway, couple thought for you.
First there are so many themes now, especially for DJ05, you probably know this already but http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/214596-list-fascinate-themes-roms.html in case you been under a rock. nitsuj17 keeps it current too so thats a true one stop shop. Almost all themes have some kinda battery display % these days.
However, if you really love circle D and its not in your theme or you like any of the themes you can DL an app called metamorph and flash on circle d that way. I got a zip for circle d if you wanna go that route too.

Yeahh..I hopped on there to get the update and got stuck there. Prolly will have a tab to it open, although not sure about keeping my computer on just for that..

Yeah, I've looked through those, I may try a couple. What I would really like is a theme where the notification bar is grey and the text (especially the clock) is black - I'm paranoid about burn-in - but all the ones I've seen have white text. Suppose I could try my hand at creating one, just no idea how >.<

In other news, the Restore worked, woo! I <3 you, nandroid and TB.

I just hide the noto bar myself. I dont believe there is a theme out there which has what you are referring to now

My battery life has been getting worse and worse of late. I have Beautiful Widgets and it's live wallpaper, but I think my issues started before then. Any ideas?

Well, couple things. As you know battery life is so hard to guage. Its dependent on usage of course. Now Widgets and Live wallpaper use more battery. Your rom, theme, kernel combo is also a factor. Finally also remember drain is not purely linear. So you might have gone from 100-81 in 2hrs but see what the next 2 hrs brings. Many of us notice 100-90 drains proportionately fast. It is an estimate based on usage. Equally true what usually happens. You pull off the charger in the morning and dink around on it for lets say 20 minutes and battery drains from 100-90 lets say then you drive to work and its in your pocket another 20 minutes and it only drains down to 89. I mean there are so many varibles. IMO you cannot accurately judge battery drain by merely judging how long something takes to go from 100-80. Use it for the day then see where its at.
Trust me on this one Kabob, I might have tested more kernels for the SF than anyone but the one thing that can never be learned in even an hour long benchmark test is battery life.
Having said all the above, if at the end of the day with normal use you do in fact find its a worse performing situation than previously than we can try and isolate the variables.

Just poking my head in here to let everyone know I'm still alive. :D

I'm on the upward swing of this illness, so you'll be seeing more of me in days to come. Lucky you. ;)

On battery life:

I've been getting pretty good battery life lately. I like it. That "thedeck" app is TweetDeck, I've been using it a lot.

Kaessa! glad to hear from you, and hope you have a speedy recovery :D we've missed you around here!

also, expect a revision to matted blues next week, (ditching the location icons in status bar, changing system text to match theme, and text in pulldown menu)

OK so unexpected snow and car breaks down. On top of that I missed my exam. Bummer of a morning. Now I need to rescue my car from the highway and hope that my exam can be made up.

I hope everything works out! I hate car troubles. :(

Yeah those of you without snow might be yearning for some. But speaking as someone who got 8" since Saturday night and had to snow blow and shovel 2 driverways Sunday it aint all wine and roses. Plus the roads can get terrible when its 35
