If u r in india and on the original firmware, update it through kies... thats the easiest way to do it.

BTW, Anyone notice, samsung-firmwares website has been down for more than 2 days now :(

I went back to JM2 after using DDJG4 rooted for a couple of days... noticed higher battery drain with the exact same usage and apps. Anyone else share the same experience?
Does JG4 actually have higher battery drain or is it just me imagining??

how did u root JG4 whenever i try it goes downloading mode of firmware!!!

gr8...so you comming from JM pls share your experience with DDJG4 and its differences

I have tried JM1 , JM2 and JM5. For me JG4 has way better battery life. i am getting pretty atleast 15% battery more. i am a heavy texter, Brightness set to 30%, 3-4 hrs voice call,2 hrs wi-fi,live wallpapers,2 hrs video, one hour gaming. Still i managed to get 22hrs battery life(21% remaining). Pretty good for me.

I reflashed my phone to DDJG4 and want to apply the lag-fix. I found the busybox file(stericson.busybox.apk) but couldn't get the instructions on how to install it...can someone post the same? Thanks!

Mate i prefer my backup pro. If your phone is rooted than it works just like titanium backup. Is there any option in titanium backup to take backup of contacts and messages? I tried it for 5 min bt didnt found any. Maybe i just skipped it. Although i think Titanium backup is faster than my backup pro in taking backup.

One more thing. I am not able to restore my contacts through my backup pro or sprite backup. they just give error like "You dont have google account setup". But i have google account. Is there anything i am missing? Please help me as i have to create contacts group everytime i flash a new ROM.
Friends, from yesterday I tried hard to find out a good reliable backup process....factory reset so many times to test them…At last....successful :) Contacts, playlists, system settings, msgs, mms, user apps with customization…..everything backed up perfectly.
Titanium Backup (root) is the solution…much much better than My Backup Pro.
There are a few tricks to use Titanium Backup.
1. You must have proper Busybox installed. Thanks to Kalpik again for this link: xda-developers - View Single Post - Quadrant score 2234 with rooted stock FW I9000ZSJF7 [EDITED 10AUG 1714HKT new tool]
2. After installing Titanium Backup to get faster restoration go to its Preference > Compression > select LZO.
3. Go to App processing mode > select AUTO, Indirect.
4. You may change Max backup history to 2/3.
----- Don’t touch other settings.
5. Then for the first time backup tap on Menu > Batch > run “Backup all user apps + system data”. Then Run the batch operation.
6. To restore a full backup select Menu > Batch > run “Restore missing apps + all system data”.
7. When the backup process finishes immediately restart your phone.

Contacts restored:

Playlists restored:

App settings restored:

[UTIL] One Click Lag Fix - xda-developers
On this link you told about changed directory name and the loop file. Is that anything major ? Would you please upload those batch files editing the text ?
Another question, if I take backup before the lagfix and try to restore after the lagfix....will it work (as you said directory name changed) ??? Sorry for my novice question...in fact those codes look like 'URDU' words for me :p:p:p

I managed to screw up the Contacts.app binary on my DDJG4 build. Don't have a backup too. Can someone upload it for me please?.. Thank you very much.

Thanks Sir for your appreciation :)
Please don't call me "Sir" :P

Its just 15 days old phone yaar..pls help me what to do??? I think the phone problem is i rooted the phone.

mate if your phone is not with you then how will someone from here will help you to fix it, anyways did you checked the IMIE no after purchasing your phone and did it matched that time with under back cover ?

well Kalpik your thoiughts here, is it possible that the imie number be changes like this after rooting ? as far as I know technically we are not changing any hardware settings while rooting but giving the current logged in user a superuser previlige...I dont know much but your expert advice here pls ...
