Shipping date speculation

Just to throw in what I see.........1st post and not Im not a spammer, this will be my first tablet, and don't kill me but I have an iPhone and macbook pro, I did have a android phone for work once, and hated it (HTC HERO) anyway............ I ordered through google play on July 3. and my credit card online statement under pending has....

It looks to me like retailers are being told to hold on to the stock that they have until after the Play Preorders have been shipped. When that will be is another question.

That Gamestop rep said they'll be released tomorrow though
 
The hold on my card dissapeared again. ARGGGGGGG! I guess they were just checking to make sure the funds were still there. I've never preordered anything before and ASSumed that meant getting the Nexus 7 before it was available in the store. But you know what they say when you ASSuME something.

I think it is a good thing! I think Google is merely trying to ensure that all those who pre-ordered do in fact get theirs just before they can go flying off store shelves, or in the very least the same day they are put out in stores! My guess is that Office Depot maybe got too excited and spoke too soon about when they would have them. But the fact that they made that statement to begin with, and that's tomorrow, I am certain all of our Nexus 7's are ready for deployment!
Supposedly they are being shipped out tomorrow! So we all my very well have them in our hands by this weekend! So exciting the anticipation is utterly killing me!

The time is near...

I don't know about emails, but I'm betting the charge will show up on the credit card before any other form of notification arrives (Follow the money!).
 
Well if what Unforgiven says is true and they want one release day, then we can assume we won't be getting them tomorrow since they weren't allowed to start selling tomorrow...and TauxiC, Office Depot already has them, as does GameStop. That statement said they weren't allowed to sell them...so if they already have them...shouldn't that mean ours is already in shipment as of today?
 
Ok, so I just talked to a friend, who talked to his brother, who talked to his girlfriend's dad, who works with a blind janitor at UPS and he says, "There are a lot of boxes here and has no idea what a Nexus is."

I have nothing to add except the FAQ says they ship mid-July.

Does it help that my card has already been charged?
 
So I'm new to this but, I've been checking this thread daily. I know this has already been mentioned. But, I called The Google Play Store today and asked for an idea on shipping other. She told me that it will be in our hands before any other retailer. This mean it would HAVE to ship today IF the Staples announcement of the 12th is true. Correct? I ordered the second it was available on the 27th. There is a charge on my card from Google that has been taken in the full amount of the Nexus.

From what I've seen all the retailers have been told they can't sell it yet. I don't think Google would want to deal with all the cancelled orders or refused shipments so people can go to a retailer and get it sooner.

Yes, thats what I meant to imply, that they already have them, and were getting antsy about putting them out on the shelves tomorrow and maybe Google was like "Halt! You shall not pass....those Nexus 7's out onto the shelves just yet!"

Hmm .. you didn't cancel and reorder or something?

Mine was pending about 5 days when I ordered on the 27th and then disappeared. Haven't seen anything since.

I haven't had any change in status. Still no official charge to my card - Ordered June 29th.

We're all hoping for some miracles tomorrow though ;)
 
Yeah I haven't sent any changes to my checking account since I ordered. No pending charge or anything. Ordered the 28th. In reality we won't see these things until next week.
 
I don't want to be negative, but I pre-ordered a few minutes before the N7 was added to play.google.com on June 27th. My credit card still shows no charge. I realize it's easier to ship cases of the devices to GameStop and Staples than thousands of individuals, but I'll be cranky tomorrow if people from those vendors have ship notices or pick them up before those of us who pre-ordered in June.

Yes, I agree it's not a big deal, but... Dang, GOOG!
