Hi Howard. I love those homescreen icons on your screenshot (the circle ones), have you found them from an icons website, or are they part of a pack??
 
Hi everyone, i've been on and off these forums for past few months.

Started reading the first 14 pages of this thread, came back in the 30s and now back again for the 60s.

I just bought a DHD as I got a special price on it over the normal desire.
Obviously I presume most of these things translate perfectly to the phone other then maybe resizing wallpapers etc.

I am excited and daunted at the same time. SOOO much I can do, but don't know where to start.

I got a bunch of widgets tested out but maybe someone could provide a full description of how they modded their Desire.

From the people that post their widgets etc used, thats a great start but for a first timer getting it to look like that is far and few between.

In just a few minutes I was sizing widgets, adding a black bar to the bottom of my screen to get ready for icons I want there instead of standard. I think i got launcher pro instead of htc sense atm, but nice to be able to toggle them with home screen.

Anyone up for a little tutorial via PM or a more in depth how to for a sweet set up. I don't mind if its not my style but a general progression would be nice.

From launcher to the widgets then resizing doing icons. Maybe a way to compartmentalize going from A to B.

EXCITED to have an android phone finally, especially with news that BBM will be on android this year, that was one thing I didn't enjoy losing.

Cheers, and if nothing else comes out of this post, thanks for all the creative ideas put forth that i've gone through!

P.S. There ever going to be theme's or such you can download so its all set up that way. Then you can modify it from there to your taste. I noticed in HTC Sense you can choose like platinum theme but doesnt provide different widgets etc.

Be nice to have it all look like your SS' with one download...haha not lazy just so much to explore!

Injured my back Sunday evening and I'm of work for a week. Perfect excuse for some tweaking. Rooted last night and started on custom homescreens.

Very good - I like Minimalistic Text too but can't work out how to create a widget with it to call a person e.g. a block with Wifey on it which calls her when it is pressed. Can it be done?

certainly. I used desktop virtualizer but there are loads of alternatives. You just assign an action same as launcher pro, but instead of launch application, you choose other, and select direct dial.
 
so how do you just get a coloured background using DV? It doesn't give me the option unless there is an icon pack which has colours instead of icons.
