Root Step by Step Rooting Instructions: for Huawei Ascend

I must say I'm sure some of you guys and girls parents must be very proud of you, bcuz from what i see some of you need to be at MIT or NASA of you not already there. It q good feeling that there people like yourselfves useing this site and help people about technology you've learned and sharing, once again.

lol, funny you say that.

i'm a mensa member that cuts trees for a living... weird that i have a physical job but i hate desks and numbers and memos. plus i seem to be allergic to artificial light, i get stabby.

Thanks, I found the .apk somewhere on here, downloaded it and installed it. Worked fine from there. On a side note, I flashed the Icarus ROM and it works great! If you are having the "multi-text" message problem, Icarus seemed to fix it for me.
 
okay, ive followed all the steps so far. right now tibu is backing up all of my apps. i have been wanting to do this for a while now but i just couldnt bring myself to take the chance with my phone. but i finally did it and when my fiance gets home, his phone is my next victim lol thanks to joser and jazz and kolio and everyone else that helps out so much on this forum. i lurk alot and this is how i found out how to operate my phone for the most part!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
 
I want to make my Metropcs Huawei Ascend work much faster, and I've been on the computer for a while trying to find out what program to use. I think Z4ROOT is the right one, Not sure if it would help make my phone faster. Help me, install it, and if its not the right rooting program, please tell me which is and how I can get it to work on the Huawei Ascend. Thanks =D
 
After you root if recommend getting overclock widget and asking around about settings. Also uninstall any task killer or task managers u have.

Don't forget to read the tutorial on rooting.
 
Just joined forum today, but have been lurking for weeks. Whenever I search the internet for an answer to my Ascend questions, I always land right back here :P

I'm new (and a little late) to this rooting trend, and I very much liked the idea of a one click root instead of following other instructions on other websites...I've seen around that z4root was available in the app market (back in Dec 2010), but I just checked and it's not. I also clicked the link to the xda site where the download is available but due to my lack of existence on their forums, I was denied access every time I clicked the link...I keep running around in circles trying to figure out a way to root my laggy Metro Ascend. I've been searching the internet to try to figure out a spftware upgrade for my phone, but I guess from reading, I should be expecting a text from Metro?

*EDIT*: Just scrolled through a few posts and found that I should have been viewing from my mobile browser (already have Dolphin)
Tried the website again with the z4root file and does the same thing, takes me to a user log-in (where I registered and then found out because I was a new user I could not download the file.)

How the heck do I download this file?!?!

Any tips?

here ya go... on windows, right click, "save linked file as" directly dl/d it to your sd card in the main directory (with all the folders.)

use file manager to install.

What launcher are you using. If you're using LPP or GO or ADW they give you options for using different fonts. I think the stock launcher is more limited.

I have go launcher. I'm now rooted and running Icarus rom 1.1. I downloaded font changer and it tells me that I need to unlock the NAND. What is that and how do I unlock it? Should I hit re-root on the z4root?
 
I need help, I have a rooted cricket ascend, I backed up, with Titanium, you tube, and then deleted it. Now I want to restore it, but I cannot, any info will help. Thank you.
