Steve Jobs has passed away: Condolences Thread

I'm an Apple hater. I think the company is evil. I think their products are extremely limited. Jobs was absolutely brilliant and visionary. Anyone who denies that is insane IMO. Jobs was the Tom Brady when you're a Colts fan. You hate him because he always figures out some way to beat you when it's all on the line. Then you have to sit back and admire just how brilliant and how good he is. The man had a skill for taking products that no one was interested in and turning them into things that everyone wanted. The tech world has lost a true legend.
 
No Apple, No Android, Know That!

People will debate if he created something or just built off of others ideas, but facts are you can't bake a cake without ingredients. His Apple products are a finished results of combining great ingredients. He set the bar. I only hope to be as great as he was.

Too True. Healthy Competition breeds Innovation.

If Android didn't have the iPhone to Compete with, it wouldn't have come this far this fast.

Even though I didn't really like Apple, I really respected Steve Jobs. He was a VERY smart man. He basically revolutionized the world. May Jobs Rest In Peace. :(
 
this is another good reason to think over simple fact, that it does not matter how much fame, or money, or power one has. It is all dust and worthless, when the time of reckoning comes. At least, Bill gave and gives a ton to charitable causes, and let go of his business. Poor Steve. Lifetime effort - for nothing.
 
He had fought his disease for a long time. I'm grateful for what he has done to push tech companies to make things more mainstream. And now I hope he can find peace.
 
Very sad to hear of his passing. I only have respect for the man that took the first steps in what became known as home computing and continued to make great strides in what has become personal computing and entertainment. His vision will be missed.

For nothing? Jobs has passed and even his enemies are lining up to sing his praises. How is that a life lived for nothing?
 
My father died of Pancreatic cancer last year at age 59. I would not wish that death on anyone. I (like many others) didn't necessarily agree with his policies, but do believe he was a pioneer. He truly changed the pc, the way we do music, and the smartphone. We definitely owe him much respect for that...

Changing the technology ecosystem several times with your and your company's efforts. You can't say that Android would be where it is now if it hadn't been for Apple and Jobs' efforts to make smartphones mainstream and something everyone needed. Regardless of money, his legacy will remain and I would not say that legacy is nothing.
