It's not quite clear to me. Which Radio are you recommending be used presently? It's sufficiently ambiguous that I want to be clear what YOUR recommendation is.

I assume that you are recommending the 1.13.652 radio and that that is the final one at the end of the post.

Is that correct?

FWIW, I'm currently running 0.97.10.0530 and it completely fixed my phone.

That is the change log detailing what I changed in the guide over time. Ignore it.

You want to use the 0.97.10.0530 in the guide itself.
 
I'm JuopunutBear hboot 1.57.5757, do I need to go to 1.04 to do the radio update?

and it says my radio is 1.06? lol

also, does anyone know where the option to toggle Fastboot is in Mobster V ROM is? I have to pull the battery to be able to Power+VolDown :\

Thanks. FYI in that section you have a link to another file that seems to install with the same 0.97.10.0530 (I think) and that was the source of the confusion.

Perhaps you want to remove the link in order to leave the change log, but not invite someone else flashing old stuff (you know, old stale bits aren't very tasty).

I believe hboot 1.04 is required to flash a new Radio. My Rom has the extended power menu all the Reboot options are there you can Reboot into bootloader , recovery, or just reboot

I made a change at the end to signify that was only the changelog.

Message me too, this is extremely frustrating with my phone constantly rebooting. I tried rebooting into recovery by taking out the battery and holding down the volume button and the power button. However it automatically reads the hboot and only lets me either start the update or cancel it. Either way, it still gets stuck in the bootloader. Please reply ASAP because it's 1 am and I need it tomorrow
 
The PRL in this thread is 60690, but the one on my phone by default is 61007. Wouldn't that mean the one I have is newer (and therefore better)?

Likewise, mine is 61009.

I was going to go the PRL from here but when I dialed ##3424# on my phone nothing happened?

Flashing the PRL with Mobster ROM is a lost cause. I've tried everything. If you want to do it install Harmonia and flash. Then you can go back to Mobster ROM if you want. Still curious if the 60690 PRL in this thread is better than the 61007 PRL?
 
This guide is using old GB firmware. I don't get it. Should be using the 2.89 Sprint firmware if you want to run new ICS roms. Jbear 1.58 HBoot is also a much better option for running the newer kernels.

The dialer codes only work on sense based roms

yes 60690 is newer but 61009 is my personal preference it runs great with me.

One is a Print PRL and one is a Virgin PRL, you cannot compare the two numbers. Most feel Sprint PRL's are better.

It's using the older firmware because it was the better firmware to use when it was written and is still good firmware.

Newer isn't always better.

I agree. However, most of the new ICS roms require 2.89 firmware to be reliable.

It's easy to flash to 2.89 firmware. [8/1/12] New OFFICIAL ICS firmware bits (2.89.651.2) - xda-developers

Just be sure to change scps001 to scps002 in android-info.txt in the zip.

If you want to run GB roms, your guide is fine as is.

I just bought my phone this week from bestbuy, so if i do this stuff wont i be changeing my phone to older stuff? also there is a prl update in my phone what does that do?

The point of this thread is to "fix" the Evo V 4g. With the ICS firmware provided on the stock Evo V 4G there is an infamous radio error that stops calls and texts from coming in or going out. If you flash the PRI and Radio as well as the PRL (Optional) in this thread the phone not only stops having the radio error, but also gets better signal. A classic example of newer is not always better. Especially when newer makes the phone unusable.

On a side note, I flashed Hormonia and was successfully able to get the 60690 PRL installed. For clarification, you can NOT flash the PRL on Mobster ROM.

same problem im having...everything else worked flawlessly just hope that ill stop having issues with the phone
also are signals and bars the same? seems like im actually getting fewer bars
 
I am a n00b to the EVO V, but do you loose 4G if you flash a Radio that works?

It's my wife's phone, it's stock, and is happy with everything as-is, except Texts are not being sent / received in a timely manner.

If all I want is for the Texts to work properly, what needs to be done?
