Root The "Fix everything by turning your phone into an Evo 3d" thread

So could transfer the PRL "fix" between roms?
say I update the PRL on a sense rom, Titanium backup the PRL data, flash to CM9, then apply the backup data?
sorry if the idea is noobish

edit: answering my own question, PRL stayed on CM9 after doing: meansrom> update PRL > flash to cm9

someone who is a little more experienced with htc phones then i can hopefully answer this.

by flashing this new radio..a better stronger radio, could there be any bad effects? or only good could come from flashing a new radio correct?

so flashing the new radio wouldnt have a bad effect on calls and signal strength, only good things will come from it..and if for some reason you want to switch back to the stock radio and pri could we also get those zips? or would that be backwards to downgrade back to an old radio and pri?

There shouldn't be any negative effects. If you run the RUU you should get the stock radio and pri back. I don't see why you would want to though.

I still get fluctuations and I did get both me and my wife's phone to throw an error by sending a bunch of texts really quick and it was not a pain text error...it was a nonsense number code
They eventually sent but it took several minutes so I'm thinking this didn't take even if it's just the version number not getting updated to the os

Even in bootloader mode my HBoot is listed as 1.04 2000 (PGH610000), Radio is 1.06.00.0426 after flashing both of these.

Is something going wrong? It lists it as complete after I flash each of them.

Question about PRL stuff

I havnt the foggiest idea what to put in the port and port label field under the port tab for QPST config. I just click COM3-Serial to the left which filled in COM3 in both fields.....when I hit ok I get BSOD everytime. I must be doing something wrong. As always thanks for your help LA

I had to uncheck the box for

Stock PRI lists as 1.53_144, and once updated should show as 1.53_145. Not sure why Leslie Ann has a weird version number in the OP.

I had to uninstall all of the HTC programs/drivers before installing the previously linked "diagnostic" drivers. Once I followed the instructions for installing the driver that koopakid08 linked I started the workflow that the OP gave and it worked.

I flashed the PRI, but in About Phone it still says my PRI is 1.53_145. The PRL and Radio updates worked fine.
145 is what you should see.

What I listed in the OP is what you are actually flashing. However, it was renumbered as 145 because on a stock Hboot, you can only go up numerically, not down.

Once you have the modded hboot, you no longer need the modded file, but it eliminates any issues if someone flashes the PRI first and the Hboot second. The same applies to the radio, it too was bumped up a notch to allow the stock Hboot to flash it. Again, once you swap the hboot, you no longer need the modded files, but they aren't hurting anything.

Update:
I added this into the OP, as well as a warning about the Hboot causing stock roms to not boot.

Got it
Thanks

I just want to thank you for fixing my phone :) i usta get a choppy signal in my home. It was bouncing between 1 and 0 bars with the fix i get a steady 2 sometimes 3 bars!!! and im on aokp thank you thank you thank you (located in the greater cleveland area so if anyone is close and wondering if it will make a difference the answer is yes)

It sounds like if we flash the eng hboot we can use unmodified files from Sprint correct? (I know this is getting picky) so we could just use those and it would show up with the correct version number?
Would it be cool if we got links in the op to the Sprint files or would this just confuse people?
Thinking out loud really...

Can anyone help with this dang bootloop issue? I installed the Hboot first and upon reboot only get to the HTC splash screen, hangs, and reboots. This is since 3am last night, it's now 11am my time. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you get into the bootloader using the button combo?
If you can you could try flashing a different bootloader...
