In regards to the sw update causing root issues, I was finally able to root successfully with the original two apks after downgrading to B04 from B07

Yep, you just have to transfer the file from your computer and then everything else takes place through the stock recovery

its a ROM that reverts back to b04 I have the ROM on my SD card already I'ma probably buy another awe for backup cus phenom work is great

Yeah its just basically the stock rom and I definitely agree with you on the phenom thing, he does great work

There so much more in the works by June of next year there gonna be lots of lollipop licking happening (lollipop factory status)

I just wanted to note, that mine came with B05 out of the box, and the utilizes linked in the original post worked well, but required a reboot to take effect, for those interested.

I downloaded this Chinese root app. I think the app updated because I see no blue icons. Just an option to root, so I click it, and after a little bit, my phone just freezes then reboots. No root. Any tips...?

http://www.zteusa.com/media/wysiwyg/virgin-awe/update.zip download this ROM it will take u back to b04 place it on the root of ur SD card go in to stock recovery and flash the zip somebody correct me if I'm wrong once ur done attempt root method again

OK u need the ROM I linked ok very simple make sure ur batt is fully chargee or at least 50 percent don't want ur phone to die during the process

Disregard the b01 if u saw a b07 yea u gunna have to handle up
