dont forget the ability to move to SDcard...
Ditto for me!
I find it ironic that Phandroid, of all people, is contributing to "phone is low on memory"

Me too. I'm only using the app for the forum. So is there any way to disable the app from running in the background with the news and pms? I already have those two options unchecked in the app but the news/pm still show under Running Services.Same here. I don't really need the app pulling news to my phone all the time, since I never read that on my phone.

^this.
i'm willing to pay for:
this is the most used app on my phone, but unfrotunately it does fall short for me in these areas.
- pure black theme (white or grey text)
- report functionality
- retrieve links from threads
- prevent pm and news services from running when not required
Hi guys I'm using the phandroid app on my samsung indulge and every time I try posting a comment on the news part it seems to post it but I can't see it. I have tried restarting app, restarting phone, refreshing comments to no avail. Are comments visible to everyone but the poster or is this an issue I'm having? Btw I have had this issue since before the app was updated.
Its more likely to do with the fact we switched over to a different commenting system. You should be able to see them after you have posted.
I'm not sure whether this is a known problem or not.
Just tried commenting via the app again and it didn't show up. The number of comments did not increase to indicate my comment was successfully received and proccessed. I'm guessing now that this is a bug. And as stated before refreshing comments, force closing app and restarting nor restarting phone work.
EDIT: I'm not sure if the requested name/email fields have anything to do with it but I used the same ones as the forums here.
then.... i highly request that we get tapatalk back!!!!!
and tapatalk works on disqus news comments?
I don't think it's ever going to work; the website switched to a completely different comment system (disqus), whereas the app hasn't been updated to match.
It looks like the phandroid app is capable of displaying the disqus comments, but the interface for submitting your own comments is definitely still the old system.

Then I formerly request (demand maybe? Lol) that the app be updated to the new system. This is an entirely "Android" centered site yet its not entirely Android app friendly? Kind of ironic. Updating site for Android platform prior to the Window$ platform seems logical to me or that could just be my Vulcan mind speaking.
originally it was security issues..
but is this site hosting military secrets? any secrets? why are all the other sites.. even XDA.. is ok with tapatalk?
Android Guy is talking about the Phandroid News section of the app has not been updated to the new Disqus commenting system that is found on the Phandroid site. This has nothing to do with the forums. Please try to remember that the Phandroid app integrates EVERYTHING that you can find on the website. The app goes beyond what tap-a-talk can handle. You have the Phandroid news, Android Forums, and Phandroid on IRC that allows you to live chat with forum members.
All of these feat in the Phandroid app can be seen as their own app in their own right. That's what the other competing Android sites do.
I've noticed that I don't get notifications of pm's anymore.
Have you checked your settings to make sure they're set to ON? Mine were on but after the last update I noticed the default switched to OFF
