Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

XP / the KDZ updater all recognise the phone within VirtualBox and I *think* I can run shell instructions to the phone using adb (haven't tested yet) but the KDZ updater fails with TYPE_WPARAM_UPGRADE_ERROR Error Code = 502 (details / log messages are in my originial post).

I will test it in my Vbox XP install too, see if i can reproduce the error you get, and/or , if i can find a workaround to it, as i'm interested in flashing the phone from within Ubuntu.

You can still dowload apps, you need the lates gapps.zip fix, which i posted on this thread a few pages back.

Your Wifi issue, are you sure you're entering the right password for your router/modem?.
i got the gapps apps, market is just stuck at download starting.
and wifi issue, i am sure i'm entering the right password.

Have you try connecting, to other wifi networks, maybe the of encryption doesn't allow the phone to get it right, WEP,WPA,WPA2.

Which version of SwiftDroid you're using? 1.9? try to go back to 1.8.

well i tried a wifi network with no encryption and i could connect to that.
my home network has a WPA2/PSK encryption, and i could connect to it on official android 2.1 rom from lg. i flashed it to swiftdroid 1.8, still cant connect to the wifi network, keeps connecting than verifying than it just breaks connection and stops. and it does it everytime.

Sounds to me that your phone is stuck in a boot loop. If you have fastboot enabled on your phone ie you installed the 2.1 carephone warehouse rom, then give this rom a try http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-gt540/251202-cyanogenmod-6-1-android-2-2-here-gt540.html its 2.2 and for me had less issues than the 2.3 and better battery life, plus it still has the apps to sd available.
tried it, but at this moment the kdz updater doesnt even recognize my phone anymore. i think i

Can you get into fastboot mode by holding the camera button and powering on? If you can, flash CyanogenMod 6. If you can't, hold volume down and power on, the screen should then say download mode, if that doesn't work try holding volume up and powering on, it should say download mode. Once you get into download mode, change 'DIAG' to 'CS_EMERGENCY' in the KDZ updater and flash the phone.
i can get into download mode, but when i change DIAG to CS_EMERGENCY it still wont recognize my phone.

The superfast froyo rom only seems to be able to read my ext partition?
It said i had 1.9gb of memory but i know that is the size of my partition and it didnt show everything..... Hmmm i could restore data from my other rom either as it went into a boot loop. Any suggestions as to how i can use that rom whilst keeping my data + apps?

BTW am i doing it correctly, extracting the folder into the clockwork mod back up and then restoring?
I tried install from zip but it failed

is it me or does the battery drain fast? It's either that or the battery indicator is wrong again. Is there a fix for this because it gets pretty annoying

i keep getting this error: upgrade error WParam: 100 LParam:1002.
i get this with every 2.1 rom.
so i did get my pc as far as reconizing my phone in download mode.
but now i can't flash any rom :(.
and after this error it wont turn again in any way what so ever.

I doubt the ROM is able to read partioned cards.

hi

what's render fx all about?

It's suppose to save battery life by making all the pixels on the screen 1 color instead of 3 (red, blue, green).

You have to restart on recovery mode and wipe the battery, advanced>wipe battery.

Well i don't know why but i am certain it did because when i launched titanium backup it created a new folder and when i checked sd card on pc all changes made were only visible on ext2 not on the FAT partition.

But then it doesn't handle them properly, i'm curious why exactly did you partitioned the SD card?

i got a pretty big problem now :(, yesterday evening my phone crashed completely, it doesn't turn on anymore at all. when i hold the power button it stays black, when i plug it in to the pc, it stays black. so no repsonse what so ever on turning it on. this happend after i tried to flash it back to android 2.1 open europe rom. i did get this error from KDZ updater: upgrade error WParam: 100 LParam:1002. after i got this error my phone won't turn anymore what so ever :(
i guess i'll have to send it back to vodafone nl/lg. or anyone knows how to fix this?
