Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

Help! I ran the swiftboard 2.0 M6.exe and the thing took less than a second to complete (is this even normal??). Now my phone will not reboot it just stays on a blank screen. :(

When you ran the .exe, was your phone connected to your PC in fastboot mode? What version of Windows are you using?

Hi, I was recently given a blue tooth headset for my birthday. Are there any roms available that support a blue tooth headset?

I know for sure that stock 2.1 does and CyanogenMod 6 & 7 definitely don't, so you could try out different ROMs to see if they work..

Wow's, looks like your getting into the developing :p Honestly I can't help with this, I have no idea how these files work; I understand them just not how to mod them :p I'd reckon you should ask Mur4ik (Mur4ik's Twitter) or another dev to help you, or maybe Google around :)

Yeah I am ^^ ever since learning to decompile the apk's I've started to slowly learn :P
Thanks I'll ask ;)
googleing around just shows me to replace the .xml with the one on their site, doesnt really work.

EDIT:
Do i have to install the boot.img and the recovery.img on the new version?

Yes it was. I'm using Windows XP professional.

Edit 1: I have upgraded it to swiftdroid 1.9. But the phone keeps rebooting when i use SetCPU. Is there any problem with the App or is it the ROM? And what can i use to overclock my phone?

maybe you overclocked it too high when you used setcpu...try not going above 845mhz...

Cool, d'you have a plan of what your modding? :p

Well you'd be using a newer version of the system with an older version of the kernel.. And it can cause the system to be very slow and non responsive, so I'd just flash boot.img if you're upgrading to v2.0 RC1. As for recovery.img you don't have to, it's just a small update to v4.0.0.5 which, from as far as I can tell, doesn't do much :p

OK so I downloaded RC1 update, and copied the zip to my SD card, but that zip has another inside, if i just select the zip that has another zip and recovery.img will that successfully update?

Sorry bout the newb question, its my first time updating through recovery

You put the 2nd zip inside, the one that's called update-cm7-rc1.zip (or something like that, I don't remember the full name :p) That's the one you flash in recovery. If you wanna update recovery you gotta do it through fastboot. Here's an auto .exe I made, just put your phone in fastboot mode, connect it to your PC and run the .exe :)

Ah okay, tbh I get the feeling that it's something more simple than editing an xml file that isn't allowing you to make the battery percentage go down in 1% increments.. Maybe something hardware related or something to do with the kernel would be a good bet..

Can you pls help me... I re-flashed the 2.1 version with fastboot enable successfully but now when i need to install CM7, I cant get into recovery mode. I am doing it like it should by pressing down home button on boot and only blank screen is showing after the LG logo, just like it's on fastboot and it should be recovery right? And another problem. When the phone is connected to PC it is normally recognizable, but when it is on fastboot connected with PC it occurs problem and at the and its not recognizable. Thank you, please help me.

I downloaded and tried every driver on the net i found, but none of them recognizes my phone while in fastboot. I checked in device menager and it shows the Android device with question mark. Tried to re-install the driver but it cant...

You don't have recovery yet, you only have fastboot... On the first post, follow the instructions in "Instructions to install CyanogenMod:">"How to install CyanogenMod manually:" If Windows show "Problem occurred" when you connect, try a different port

Get the latest version of SwiftDroid(M6) from "SwiftDroid v2.0 Experimental version:"

I solved the problem. I just needed the fastboot driver, and if I didn't found it I wouldn't made it even with manual update. I somehow found "all in one driver pack" for GT540, which almost worked because I had to find some system file in order to install it completely. Then my phone was recognized by my PC on fastboot mode, and I updated it manually. This mod i awesome thou! Anyway, thank you very much for your help.

First of all thanks for this, I love 2.3.

My only issue is that the mobile data does not work, it does not even try to connect to one. I am an o2 pay as you go customer with data included. I text them at 2020 to get the settings, but I still have nothing in the APN's. I then found a site with the APN details, and I tried to add it, but when I saved it did not seem to save it. Any thoughts?

The only other thing I miss, is the different input when typing I liked it when it was vertical you had the traditional phone key pad to text with large buttons, rather then the soft qwerty key board, is there any input managers out there to add?

Cheers for any help!

Luke

Your APN settings are:
Name O2 WAP PRE PAY
APN payandgo.o2.co.uk
proxy not set
port not set
username payandgo
password password
server not set
MMSC not set
MMS proxy not set
MMS port not set
MCC 244
MNC 10
Authentication type none
APN type not set

Press Menu>Save then you should be able to connect :D

As for your keyboard, download SmartKeyboard Pro from here and install it. Then once installed go to Settings>Language & Keyboard>Check the SmartKeyboard Pro box>SmartKeyboard Pro Settings>General Settings>Portrait Mode>T9. Then go to any text box and tap and hold on it, then select Input Method>SmartKeyboard Pro. And then you'll have the normal keyboard :D

Thanks for the reply, those were the same AP settings I tried earlier, but when I hit 'save' it just goes back to a screen with no APN's listed. When I select 'Network Operators' It does populate a list, but is always still searching, like it is hung, and does not let me select any thing.

Any Thoughts?

Thanks for the keyboard things

That's very weird... What version of SwiftDroid are you on?

Np :)

v1.9 is the exe on my computer. Also at my house I generally have almost all bars of service, but now it fluctuates from 1 to full, but over a 30 min period. It did finally get the 'Network Operators' and tried to select both of the o2 UK ones, and neither seemed to connect, So I put it back to auto, and the phone does work.

Maybe try upgrading to v2.0 RC0, it's in the first post :)

I am sorry I don't follow you, what is v2.0 RCO? I just followed the instructions to flash the phone from the 1st post, So I assumed that it would be current?
