[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

So how's build 39? I tried it for like two hours and didn't really see the benefits over the bugs I was having.
If build 40 has all these kinks worked out, I'll flash it.

It was hot, but I couldn't tell if it was because the CPU was going nuts or if it was just because the screen was on.

I wound up wiping since I needed a working phone (better an unexplained bug than an angry wife...). I saved a backup of the brokeness, but I'm not sure I'll bother doing anything with that since it's...broken. Hooray for being a pro at full wipes now?

lol. Well being a pro at wiping is a definite bonus when owning a GN and addicted to tweaking your phone!

I wonder if it was a just a "GN kernel moment"? I've had it happen a couple of times and it does not seem kernel specific at all. So, you all good now?

I have not tried it yet. Been waiting to get the chance to flash anything I've been so busy, but busy is good these days.

I do see a lot of people running 39 with zero, nada issues, so maybe it was a Ti restore or a custom kernel/theme/mod that you flashed onto 39?

Yeah, probably. I didn't notice anything that really wowed me with 39 either. I think I'll just wait for the next one.

I'm having bugs with 38, but I didn't write though.

So I'm just going to wait until the next milestone to do a write and clean install.

No 39 for me, especially since there are so many bugs.

38 with a dirty flash has given me some worries. My phone has posted is self down, the camera was freezing and lagging. Dropping 4g. Browse freezes, requiring an airplane mode toggle.

I know I should just clean write, but I don't feel like redoing my accounts.

The only issues I had with 39 was PowerAmp continually losing the play list. Everything other than that was great, but I am listening to an audio book, so I went back to 38, and all back to normal.

FYI.....

B39 + Franco Kernel M4, will cause STORAGE to give me "Unfortunetly, SETTINGS has sstopped" message.

I wiped dalvik, re installed B39 and storage worked. I then proceed to install Lean kernel 3.0.9 and worked fine. I then installed Franco M4 and it crashed.
So i downloaded the latest nightly from franco, and its now working fine.

Just saying, those with B39 and franco M4 kernel may experience storage option under setting to crash. Was able to replicate on my phone and my co workers (same setup as mine)

Yeah, everything's fine now, and I was even able to pull some apps back out of the nandroid I was able to make. Just kind of confusing and a little annoying, but oh well, such is life.

So, I had an issue in B36 with my ringtones that were set were not being played, so went with B39. Fixed that issue, and I have not said this before, but it does feel faster. The rotation actually works as it should now, it flips through screens quicker, etc.

did find one small bug in B39 - I have Fast Charge set to come on after a reboot, and I also have it as a toggle. The notification tells me that it is on after a reboot, but the toggle indicates it as off.

On build 39 now. Still get the "I didn't blow on my Nintendo cartridge before putting it in" effect at boot. Went with latest leankernel exp 4.

Does anyone know where I can read about the kernal they included with this? It seems too be good. I usually use lean kernal, but life this one. Cyanogen or something?

KalimochoAz @ xda has been cooking the tuna (GN) kernels included in CM9. I don't know if that is the one that comes baked in B39 as I'm still on B37, but I'm assuming it is. User ch33kybutt has built a kernel that is very similar to the CM9 tuna kernel. You can read his post here.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can get the stock CM9 tuna kernel unless you push with adb the boot.img (I could be wrong)

I installed 39 coming from Stock 4.0.4 and everything worked out of the box except Google Talk. I had to wipe and reinstall the ROM and GApps to get it working again. I think that was my fault though, from when I ran the Titanium Restore.

The only true problem I had was with GPS. It refused to get a fix. I installed the Mitch0115 Optimal gpsconf.zip file and it worked immediately. I now get 6 out of 7 satellites.

So far, everything has been great butI haven't had a chance to test 4G yet.

My B39 rom is:

3.0.34-cyanogenmod-gf09409a
roman@localhost #1

Seems snappy and battery miserly. I usually go right over to leankernal. I didn't this time. Huh.

Idk about the kernel nomenclature there.....

I will add that I've had superb results from CM's base kernel though. It especially excelled in battery life when I ran it.
