[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

They released B40, took it down, then released a new B40 with a different md5. The first showed "aokp_toro_build-39" on the settings menu so the new B40 probably fixed this. Can anybody on the new B40 verify that this is true?

The latest B40 does say B40 in about phone. I don't know what was actually changed. I can tell you it is running perfectly for me.
 
anyone know how to mod the mms so it has a black background?

i know there are others out there but i dont like all the funky colors ppl make the text or i find one with bubbles but then the text is white and you cant see it...

this right here

I know the mms is really easy to install, just flash in CWM, some of the others get a bit technical. but if you only want the mms version, then your set.

Oh, and im still recieving that forsaken bug where it will stop typing while texting -_-

ok thanks, someone suggested i take the one from black ice so i did that and it looks pretty decent. blue icon, black background with white outgoing, blue incoming...

is the one u suggested any differ?
 
anyone else having problems with build 40... after reflash I lost 4g google sysnc (blue icon)... google play wasn't installed so i could reinstall my apps.. so basically I couldn't use build 40.. any ideas? I wiped data, dvalik, everything, tried 2x same result? .... downloaded toro for verizon galaxy nexus

actually, the way you described "black ice" sounds exactly like that. the only gripe i have with that is the blue icon, i'm very picky about how my home screen looks XD

you need to flash Gapps after you flash a ROM, a link to them can be found on the first post of this thread

yea me too lol, i actually like the green mms icon. what i really want is just a truly inverted stock one with black background plus emoji without all the added flare lol just everything once white now black and vice versa...

oh i remember the good old days when CM gave the option of the black or white background built in lol smh
 
Any issues with the latest AOKP B40? I know the dev removed the earlier AOKP B40 early today and re-posted. Maybe something went wrong.

Am I safe and good to go with AOKP B40? I dislike updating every month as I cannot keep up with re-installing my apps manually all the time when I switch ROM's

been going strong all day for me...

just kernel searching now, once/if i find a good one this may be my last flash til for a while as long as nothing crazy happens...

yep lol , buttttt......like the old saying goes all good things come to an end so oh well i guess. I'll just settle for the one i pulled from black ice...
 
If you got build 40 at dark:30 AM, it said build-39 in about phone. Later that morning that fire was taken down and the new one fixed it. I asked about it at rootzwiki.

No major problems on build 40. The only one I have is the graphic glitch at boot, right after boot animation.

Edit: also, goomanager keeps telling me there's an updated version of my ROM....

I'm fairly certain that graphical glitch can be attributed to 2 things: the interaction between the newer screen tweaks along with faux kernel. This is an educated guess as I've taken those 2 things out of the equation and use my trusty Franco M4 along with his tweak app. I no longer have the graphical screen glitch that I had upon 1st boot w/ b40
 
I'm using leankernel 3.9.0 230exp5 as of 15 minutes ago.
Still getting the graphic glitch. It's normal? I say any glitch isn't "normal" lol.
But what can I do to fix this?

sorry in the past i've flashed the rom only and thats all that was needed... so basically go into recovery wipe all data... flash AOKP build 40 then...

do I restart like normal and let AOKP run or do I stay within recovery and also flash the GAPPS file?... also does this build stick with the stock kernel? if so, would flashing the lean kernel play nicely with AOKP (and is this process done the same way, recovery, select .zip and flash?)
 
Flash gapps same session.

With build 39, I flashed leankernel exp4 in the same recovery session that I flashed the ROM without a problem.

I forget what kernel comes with b40. I tried it out for the weekend to see how it held up. Leankernel 3.9.0 230 exp5 is working great for me. Ymmv.

Flashing a kernel you don't need to wipe anything. Just flash zip from SD. I wipe cache and dalvik cache just for the heek of it though.
