Seems good to me troop.
Well, this is an interesting turn of events: I dirty flashed B40 and everything seems fine... EXCEPT:
My face unlock is suddenly covered up by my pattern screen! It still works, I hold it up and all I see is pattern but it still recognizes my face and logs me in... I just can't see myself while it's happening.
Which may be a good thing, since I have a face for radio

Is this similar to what you are experiencing? If so then it looks like a bug in B40 and MarcLandis already has it fixed for the next build.
B40 is working great for me except i noticed the lockscreen music widget is incorrectly sized on both the "Stock" layout option and the "new" layout. Is this happening to anyone else?
Exactly. On the "Stock" look, the album art in the background was about halfway down the screen. Now its like 25%. Could have sworn both stock and new layouts were fine on B39
Any issues with the latest AOKP B40? I know the dev removed the earlier AOKP B40 early today and re-posted. Maybe something went wrong.
Am I safe and good to go with AOKP B40? I dislike updating every month as I cannot keep up with re-installing my apps manually all the time when I switch ROM's
Thank you in advance.
No issues here. The reason for the remove and repost was because the first post said build 39 in the about phone settings instead of build 40.
How come you reinstall all your apps manually? Do you have Titanium Backup? The paid version has batch backups/restores so if you quickly stop the play store from installing/syncing all your apps, you can use TiBu to batch restore all user apps with or without data. Once you've done it a few times and you go through the backup/restore process with apps/data, launcher settings, AOKP settings, and SMS, flashing a new ROM should only take 30 minutes to an hour (if you go slow like me)
well i have an issue with AOKP b40
it is no longer notifying me of new notifications...
no text message notifications, no gmail, nothing.
anyone else have this issue?

I'm on the 20120428 dated build. I think that was when M5 dropped..right? Anyways... should I just flash b40 since im on M5 or is it almost mandatory to fully wipe.
Question.
I use Friendcaster and sync my contact photos with that because the official FB app and sync sucks. But every time I wipe I have to sync my contact photos again by syncing all the Friendcaster contacts and joining with the ones backed up on gmail.
I know backing up system data with TiBu is a bad idea, but what if you only backup the contacts app, then run the backup for the rest of the downloaded apps, so they're in the same folder? You could then restore all apps and system data (with the only system data being the contacts) and hopefully all would be kosher. The only thing I could see going wrong is if you need to remove the contacts app before restoring it with TiBu.
Anybody have experience with this? It sucks having to resync all my contacts pictures every time I wipe.
To fix it, stop using leankernel with its gamma correction, or any rom with the correction cooked in. Of course, you won't get the benefit of the gamma correction mod or leankernel, but if not having that split second of graphic clipping is more important to you, then there you go.I'm using leankernel 3.9.0 230exp5 as of 15 minutes ago.
Still getting the graphic glitch. It's normal? I say any glitch isn't "normal" lol.
But what can I do to fix this?
Could be. B39 uses the CM kernel unless you changed it yourself. Maybe your phone prefers CM kernel to faux 18 in b40.Nice. I restored to b39. For some reason my phone is much smoother in this build?
