[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

milestone or wht ?

Yeah M4. I saw your post about looking for a kernel with the best battery life. It's difficult to recommend a kernel to someone when kernels are so device and usage dependent. The way I use my phone and for my cell signal, M4 is the best. It might be mediocre for you though (I saw that you've tried it). You just have to trial and error it until you find your sweet spot.

Maybe, if you want to get OCD with us :p, you could make a post (here is fine feel free :)) describing your usage and what kind of apps you have installed. Include every detail you can think of (syncing apps, how often, screen brightness, cell signal, wifi usage, etc... everything!). I'll be glad to try and help you find that sweet spot in battery life. I know others here will also.

I flashed r194 this morning and put on the Power Saver mode from his app (utilizes the lazy gov) and it's been fantastic. For me, good battery life is easy to come by...it's good battery with screen on time that is nearly impossible for me and this kernel has been doing a great job with it

Im giving Lk 3.9 exp4 a go. down to 85% after 5 with only 30 minutes screen on time (40%) but i have been using airdroid a lot.

Cell standby is at 10% so far, is that normal?

I like to give an kernel a couple days. I also wipe cache and dalvik before flashing a kernel, but that is just me.

I don't know what is normal...my cell standby is at 4%. Usually higher if your phone is looking for a signal a lot.

Let me know how that exp works for ya...I am on exp3.

GD!!!! I just flashed 39 yesterday

Edit: where do you get the leads for this? I've been posting on rootzwiki recently, and I don't ever see Roman posting, "hey guys, build ** is coming out tonight"

Laughing out loud so hard right now that I couldn't use LOL!

So check it brother...

When a week has gone by after a fresh release I start checking into AOKP's github and gerrit to see what has been changed and if the team is merging it into the ROM. AOKP is open source just like Android, hence Android Open Source Project or, AOSP.

I also am signed up to receive emails from them.

Finally, I check aokp.co which is their website and sometime he latest build appears before it is available, so basically, the guys are uploading it at that time. And because the link to the ROM must exist before it is finished uploading, I can comment on it ahead of release.

I will try to get some links up. Maybe even add them to the OP. Got to clear that with jbdan first, as it is his thread.

I've just installed b40. It's nice. Snappy. It has a weather panel on the lockscreen, a couple of more toggles (I forget offhand). I like it.

I've heard it has a new theme pre-installed...autochromatic maybe? Have you tried it? A NFC toggle is also included and AOKP is back to Fauxs 18. New info included in the "About Phone" screen in settings as well. I can't read that dang changelog he posted :smokingsomb:

I'm moving from B37 to B40 tomorrow afternoon, looking forward

Mod version
aokp_toro_build-39

I was like seriously.... did I just seriously clean flash the same exact ROM I was just on?

Still get the Nintendo cartridge glitch on boot.

Just a naming glitch. You're on 40 if you flashed 40

This update, has probably been, by far, the smoothest and most optimized that ive seen since M5. I like it :D brought me back from liquid for sure. Can't say wether they've fixed the text message issue, haven't had a chance to test it.

well its up again, and i verified the new MD5 sum with the old b40, and they dont match, whatever happened, they've changed something probably

glad i didnt waste my time flashing and getting the one from last night going, lets get this new 40 going...lol

I didn't know they took the dnld link down. Maybe they just changed the fact that it still read B39 in "about phone" settings to the correct b40.

Hmmmm

I flashed the one from last night. Not the new new.

If they did change something semi important, I can dirty flash, correct?
