[Verizon] [ROM][4.0.4] AOKP ICS B40/M6/Mods (7/8)

I am going to give that a try looks like they got the data working and no issues so far....will update in a bit.

Update: Jelly Bean baby!!! Its working for me. Even have inverted apps running! Will see how the battery lasts today....or if anything is broken.

Progress with the JB nand so far...here are the changes I have noticed the most:

Lots of visual add ins...animations on lock screen etc. However, biggest changes that I am seeing are:
1. Interactive notifications in the pull down bar!!! (Calendar, SMS, emails..etc with quick response, etc.)
2. Widgets are more powerful. Auto/manual resizing and fitting to home screens etc...basically more live and interactive widgets.
And 3. Voice commands are HUGELY improved..and available offline!!! Vast improvement on accuracy and instant response!!!! Awesome!
Other than that, I will have to let it ride today to see what it does to battery...or at least this version does.

(Side note: I am spoiled by the customizations from AOKP, so some of the tweaked and looks like the circle mod for battery and the regents windows like sense....other than that, I am a HAPPY camper!!)

I have to admit...kind of torn on AOKP B40 or JB...

At least for today, it's probably just sticking with B40, simply because I don't think I have the time to play with JB.

So, not new with B40, but changing the nav button width and height frees up the screen a lot. Wish I had used those settings sooner!

I have had zero problems with JB and will use it until AOKP comes up with a JB version. I'm using Nova Launcher and it is flawless, fast and stable. I have yet to find an app that it doesn't work with but I have not tried them all yet.

This is like falling in love with this phone all over again!

You know I'm with ya on this one  :)

Looking forward to AOKP's version as well!

The only problem I had was making a nandroid from within ROM manager...but I just backed it all up using cwm. Looking forward to the AOKP versions!!!!

Edit: It is great on battery...made it 23 hrs with 2.5 of screen....and I was using it pretty hard trying out the camera and other new functions. Google now will be great since its a learning feature and tied to all searches and Chrome.
I do miss toggles and other tweaks from AOKP, so will be happier when that comes out...but for now this is great. Will be testing GPS and Nav today so will check on that too. Big thanks to Roman for this!!

problem with B40: clean flash (factory reset, wipe data/cache) it twice, and it won't let me play NBA Jams or MC3. It's like it wants to rotate 90 degrees off.

went back to B39. oddly enough, it's not working with my backup either. crud.

*follow up* MC3 is okay; NBA Jams won't work with reduced Nav bar height or width. Developer email sent.

You haven't by chance changed the dpi have you?

Essentially, yes. By changing the nav bar height from stock 48dp to 24dp and nav bar width from stock 42dp to 24dp, I've increased my screen real estate.

However, interestingly enough, that seems to be the only game that cares of all the ones I've tried. Modern Combat 3 loads fine, Tank Hero: Laser Wars works fine, and Angry Birds loads fine. Tried several restarts and clearing cache and also clearing data for that app. Haven't done an uninstall/reinstall of the app.

At any rate, it's obviously an app issue and not an AOKP issue. I'm guessing they coded it to look specifically for the Gnex's screen size, and when it sees more, well, it goes nuts.

well just this morning i was taking pictures with my phone which is running b40 along with LK and the camera froze but i was able to get out of the app butttttt the camera led stayed on and i had to reboot to fix that...

That's interesting. Hope it was just a freak, one time occurrence

yea me too so i just thought id put that out there and let it be known cus idk when/if b41 is coming out since everyone is riled up over JB nowadays lol ya know

lol so true :)

And it's awesome when people report their experiences, good and bad, as it helps others immensely. So I thank you

My exchange email wouldn't sync with JB and it didn't like Apex Launcher so I'm back.

I REALLY hated having to use the non-touch version of cwm too. Why can't they fix the button navigation? I was zipping around to every menu item except the one I wanted.

Don't want to go too far OT, but what JB version did you try? And why did you have to use the non-touch version? You're right about Apex...the Apex dev is working on it though

Yeah I hear ya about the jumpy CWM 5.5.0.4 and the dang volume rocker on the GN. My sister (running aokp b38) still has that cwm version...I updated her rom the other day and forgot how awful it is to use. Didn't have time to give her the touch version.

JB 5.0, which says to use non-touch version of CWM.

Exchange gave no errors, but said it hadn't synced yet. Stock launcher doesn't cut it for me and saw no reason to install Nova since my contacts are tied to Exchange acct. (with no contacts, can't use the phone.) Can't wait for my Nexus 7 to get here. :D

Nice, you pre-ordered it, I haz jealous !

I'll be back to AOKP as soon as they give a Proper JB release, no doubt...

But man, JB in a near stock form is just way too sweet right now To go back to that dumpy ICS :P (I kid)
