[Verizon] [ROM] AOKP JB-MR1 Milestone 2 [4.2.2] (07.21.13) TORO

B4 is working fantastic on mine with LeanKernel. I have none of the above issues.

It did not go without incident though. I flashed and found I could not assign custom icons to nav bar buttons.
The culprit was me restoring apps with TBU backups made in ICS.

I re-wiped-flashed and let Google Play restore my apps and its all good.

Copied the ICS TBU backup files to a safe place and did a full delete of TBU backups and re-did the JB config TBU.

Also, I have tried several inverted GAPPS packages and it seems at least one apk out of each package fails. So......... I did them all one at a time until they all work and have them packaged here.

You can flash them all in a single session and boot.
 
Battery life seems pretty poor for build 4. Anyone else? Where are links to the newest lean or faux kernels?

Running B4 & Leankernel its great for me but I tell ya, if you use Google Now its gonna hurt.
I tried G-now and did not like it much but when I went into running apps and seen 4 instances of Maps running I knew it had to go.

I disabled G-now and killed the Maps and rebooted and no maps running now.
 
just flashed the new baked rom on rootzwiki that came out a few minutes go. same kernel probs. none of these new roms based on aokp will work with trinity or air kernel (they're all kinda buggy too). lame.
 
Updated to build 4. Loving this thing all over again. Had been on build one for about 2 months and the phone had become noticeably laggy. Well, not anymore. Very happy with performance. Hopefully it lasts a bit longer this time.

Just dirty flashed to build 4. I am running Trinity kernel as well. No issues. However I am on Gsm now so it's not apples to apples.

OK...can someone explain the process of "dirty flashing" - or confirm that I'm doing it correctly?

I dl'd the zips (through GOO).
Rebooted into recovery.
Wiped Cache.
Wiped Dalvik Cache.
Flashed Rom.
Flashed Gapps.
Wiped Cache again (not sure if necessary).
Wiped Dalvik Cache again (not sure if necessary).

I assume this is a "dirty flash" because I did not wipe system data?

Anyway, I have done this with each build since Build 1 and have not seen any issues. I ran both Franco and Lean without problems.

That said...I'm not sure what kind of problems I should be looking for. What are the problems associated with "dirty flashing"? Crashes? Random reboots? Reboot cycles? Laggyness?
 
Don't wipe system after flashing..... You shouldn't be able to boot with nothing in /system.... interestingly confused....

I edited to be more clear. I did not wipe /system. I only wiped the cache - found under "wipe cache partition".

Problems? Just random weirdness. Last time I couldn't send out receive MMS, so I clean flashed, restored apps with TiBu, and everything works.
Things get left behind by the old ROM that weren't intended for the updated ROM and can cause conflict.

Well...7 days later and I haven't had anything too weird. I think twice the data wouldn't connect. Wifi bars were showing but grayed out. I went into airplane mode and back out and it was fine.

Again, I have dirty flashed each of the 4 builds.

Not much other activity in this thread....7 days w/out a post. Any talks of a new build?

Any talks of bringing back the torch by holding power with the screen off? I loved that feature in the milestone build. Used it all the time.
 
While waiting for AOKP to finally roll out a stable Jelly Bean ROM I flashed Liquid Jelly Bean. I was very impressed with the battery life with Liquid. So far not so much with AOKP. I tried the stock kernel and it was really bad. I then flashed Lean Kernel and it's not much better. What I mean is with the same conditions and usage, at the end of my workday I would typically have between 60% and 70% left with Liquid. Usually much closer to 70% than 60%. Using AOKP I have between 30% and 40% left at the end of my workday. Usually much closer to 30% than 40%.

Is this what everyone else is finding too? I have the same apps, same locations, same wifi connectivity points, same usage, same everything and it's pretty noticeable. Any input from anyone else on this matter?

I am interested in battery life comparisons too. My experiences so far:
1. XenonHD- bad. Right around 6 hours of typical use
2. XenonHD + Leankernel- see #1
3. AOKP + Franco about 14 hours of use

Obviously I'm thrilled w the battery life if AOKP after weeks of Xenon. But....if Liquid is truly that much better....
 
Things have gotten pretty quiet. The ROM is stable as any out there and is pretty loaded with features. Battery is on par with other custom ROMS and much better than stock. Not sure why movies have not been fixed. Not really sure what else anyone wants it to do other than stay up to date. Overall I think JB development will begin to slow down now until we see some major change or new nexus devices out there.
 
Things have definitely quieted. AOKP is somewhat without Roman and I think that direction is slightly lacking. And I really want Google Movies to work (meaning purchased movies play on our rooted devices, not a malicious hack BTW, but simply a code update to reflect Google's support for rooted devices).

I will continue to follow AOKP on Twitter and all threads on Rootz and XDA to keep this thread relevant and up to date. However, I am now running Jelly Belly, again.

AOKP noob here. How do I get the gallery to display Picasa web albums? Did a search and didn't find anything here. Bugless Beast does this. Thanks.

I tried opening the settings within the gallery app but nothing shows up...Just an empty window. Anyone else have this problem?
