[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

so what did you do about the screen on option? because when i select it, it just flashes nonstop...

Hmmm, mine wasn't staying on all the time until I messed with it just now. And now it is staying on all the time. I tried choosing lightflow at that location and it constantly reverts back to default anyway but I think it's committing changes in the background because now default and app+ and lightflow all show up in the dropdown list there. I also had a few FC's when trying to select the lightflow app as the controlling method. Seems like this little test got me into the same situation as you. :D

Yikes! Then I'm messing no further.

Ok guys I figured out how to get rid of the ongoing notification. This should work if you've chosen a specific app like lightflow to control the led in the sourcery led settings. Go to the dropdown where you select the app, press on lightflow (if previously chosen by yourself), then press the gray box to the right and select "delete". Then you're left with the two options of "default" and "app+". Select default and exit. That got me back to normal.

I use the built in led control.
what does lightflow do that the built in version doesnt?
Kinda sounding like they are both trying to control the same thing and getting confused

I'm sure they do the same thing but I was originally confused about the built in feature. I thought it was asking us to choose a controlling app such as lightflow. I now understand that you are supposed to choose each app (gmail, email, messages, etc) and set each one of them up individually. What confused me is that after one is set up, it doesn't show up except in the dropdown menu. Any chance of making each one show up on the main led control screen after setup?

Honestly, if you're using lightflow though, its kind of easiest just to keep using it and leave the setting in the control panel as default. The nice thing is that works perfectly even with the built in control enabled and you can still adjust the flash length and frequency there without causing problems. Because lightflow is an app, after a full wipe it can be reinstalled with Titanium and no need to set the led back up.

Which brings up a question I've been meaning to ask. Is there an option to backup Sourcery settings so that mods could be restored after a clean install? Or is that too many skeletons to deal with because of potential framework changes?

Is there any way to enable us to change the wording at the bottom of the drop down? Right now it says Verizon Wireless. I forget what rom I was using that allowed it but it was kind of cool. It's small and incidental so I understand if it's a PITA.

We had that in ICSourcery, it will be ported over soon enough.. I to don't like carrier branding on MY phone...

I believe that its meant to be that way. In ICS contacts picture were distorted and fuzzy in the incoming call screen. Now it seems like its fixed...

Hello,

I am going to flash JB Sourcery and had a question before I proceed flashing:

I am wondering, if it would matter, when it comes to doing a Clean Flash, if I were to (1) Create a Nandroid of working ROM, (2) Wipe Data (3) Wipe Cache (4) Wipe Dalvik Cache (5) Wipe Battery Stats (6) Format System (7) Format Data and (8) Format Cache?

I usually do steps (1) - (6) when doing a clean flash.

(1) I don't mind doing it, I just wonder if it would be helpful?

(2) Does JB Sourcery V2.0 include a Kernel along with the ROM? If not, which kernel would you guys recommend I flash along with it?

Thanks in advance.

Thank YOU..and you are now living inside sourcery...this tip is now located in JBSourcery Info center under sourcery news.. so everyone will have an easy reference if this affects them. thank you.

not yet... have had a few inquiries on it. will add it to our list and see if we can get something added

Probably not

1) All I ever do for a clean flash is nandroid, Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache, and it works every time. Wiping battery stats doesn't do anything (of use) and the others are just redundant.

2) It comes with the stock kernel, but included in the rom is the ability to flash kernels without having to find them online, so flash away. Every phone is different but I'm having success with LeanKernel

So just wanted to report a quick bug that I found in 2.0. It appears that when my battery started running low, my status bar battery life was showing different than my lockscreen battery life, but the status bar % was the correct one according to Settings > Battery.

No big deal of course as this is the first I've noticed it. When the battery isn't this low, it's always accurate, but just thought I'd pass it along :)
