[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

That is not true. All you have to do is touch your picture in the Camera mode and the options appear at the top.

are you on this ROM (or any ROM with the 4.2 camera)?

Based on your description, I thought I was missing something but I'm not - I just tried again. When you take a picture, the small thumbnail of the previous picture is no longer there like it was in the previous camera app.

So, when you take a picture and then tap on the screen anywhere, it just focuses. This is the second time I've run a 4.2 camera and it is the second time I've seen this.

Actually the easy workaround for the 4.2 camera is to swipe the focusing camera screen to the left.... And waaa laaa... The last picture you took is there. Then click on it... And the share button..

I will switch over to lean tonight and give it try. GPS was off during that period, at least the navigation part was. DO you turn off ALL location based services? I believe that there are 3, 2 of the 3 were on but not the one that works with navigation (I had to turn that one on after I got lost, lol)

What is the best way to tell where the drain is coming from? I can look at the battery stats, screen was first and it hadn't been on much. Brightness is about halfway up btw.

Not sure of anything else significant

I use better battery stats to determine drain, if any. Check xda for the apk For that one... I don't have it with me, it's at home on the pc.

And as far as gps... I have the top and bottom one on all the time., but the location based middle item, used for nav is off unless I am using navigation.

Also, I use the Notification Toggle app from GPlay, when it's a system app, I have a toggle for gps. That switches on that middle/nav gps option.
Also make sure you use the 5.0 versions of lean, since they are the 4.2 kernels.... Versus version 4.6, which is android 4.1.2 compatible...

Good luck!

LOL, having to workaround installing the wrong lean kernel now!

Is it just me or with 4.2 everytime I flash 4.2 does my sdcard '0' file system get another level deeper? Really weird.

Yes... Each time you flash a 4.2 rom you will add another 0.... UNLESS you update your recovery program. Both TWRP and CWMR have new versions that will handle it....

Recomendation:
Download and install goomanager beta app from GPlay. Open it and give it root access. Click the 3dot menu, click install open recovery script... Let it finish.
Reboot into recovery.

Optional/Advanced:
Using a file manager, move all files to the sdcard/0 folder

The reason for this is that 4.2 incorporates multi user support... So one user is sdcard/0 the next user would be saved in sdcard/1 etc... But every time you flash the old recovery starts over again at /0/0/0/0.....etc.
Good luck!

What are you all using for an ad blocker with this ROM? I was using AdFree Android but I can't seem to get it to work.

Edit: Nevermind. I tried for a couple days after I updated and it wouldn't work. I reinstalled right after I posted this and AdFree finally worked.

Anybody else having a problem with their power button? Mine (at times) will take several pushes to get the phone to respond. It seems to only happen when trying to wake the phone but never when I'm shutting the screen off.

I also caught my phone in a random boot this morning. Anyone else seem this?

Funny you mention that... Well not really, but something I also noticed.
I was able to fix it by rebooting to recovery and running a fix permissions... A couple of times. Seems like the network was shutting off when the screen timed out... Then was trying to get a connection when I hit the pwr button to turn it back in, causing lag to turn back on...

According to the dev, that's been fixed in v11.0...but it also seems to be affected by the kernel.
I chose to run leankernel exp, and don't have the issue anymore.
Good luck!

I've never done a dirty flash but I just braking set up my phone from a massive crash. Will a dirty flas h work so I don't have to re setup?

According to the Dev....the builds that are #.x are fine to dirty flash...which means to just clear dalvik and install ROM and gapps....
But anytime we go to a new # he recommends a clean install meaning you should do a factory reset, clear dalvik, clear cache, and wipe system. Install ROM and gapps, reboot......and then reset up all your items and apps...giving you a chance to make sure that nothing you add to the clean ROM borks anything the Dev did.

Now, that said...you have your own process and your own procedures....but if anything does not work...it comes back to what you did and what you installed...since the Dev can only work on the clean ROM,and not your wiping procedure and apps.....

Personally I know that if I dirty flash, and something is not working...I try to fix it or clean flash and start over...and then try to narrow down what I did to Bork the thing!!!!

Honestly its entirely personal preference....but remember what you do, so you can figure out what went wrong...if it does. I know that v11 has new VZW versions, so I did a clean flash...practice makes perfect tho, 12min and I was all set up and running again.

How the heck are you accomplishing this so fast? You running 2 apps? Lol

Get titanium backup pro, use nova launcher to back up home screens and you are golden. Just restore your apps then restore your nova backup. You will have to set up the ROM settings again but those are pretty quick to do once you know what you want.

That is probably what I should do and I have resisted for a long time but I just never liked Nova. I'm so used to looking at Google's screens that the slight change in font/size irritates me....maybe I'm OCD but I prefer old and set in my ways.

I do Titanium backups, I've just never restored them. I have no idea why I do it that way. Another practice I should change. If the ROMs restore from Google (like this one) I just let them do it.

I know....I'm ridiculously impossible. I hear it from my wife all the time.:o

Thanks for the advice though. I may let titanium do its thing this time.

I just restore "launcher" data from TB pro. The only thing I have to do is my 2 widgets and MSN and 2imap email accounts. I have to find a way to do those automatically.

The rom and the apps are working well.

wow, that sounds nice. does this work well for the standard android launcher?

One annoying thing (not the fault of this particular ROM) is the 'nesting' of 0 file systems that occurs with each install of android 4.2+. I about ruined my phone ridding myself of the mess multiple installs had made of my phone's system (like I said I'm OCD!). I installed the latest CWM (6.0) because I thought that was supposed to remedy this situation but it just happened again with this install.

How do I prevent this?? How are you guys fixing it without wreaking havok on the phone (as I did 2 days ago)?
