[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Tell you what, JE78:

Google "Super Wipe". It's a zip file much like a ROM, and it does one thing and does it well: it doesn't wipe data, it FORMATS partitions. It cleans out Data, Cache, Dalvik and System.

The one I use (and trust) is called Android Revolution Super Wipe. Google that one, download and put it in internal memory, in the SD root.

In ClockworkMod, make sure you have your ROM/gapps ready. Install Super Wipe and let it do its job. When it's finished, THEN flash your ROM. Try that.

Chief, maybe i'll give that a try tomorrow.

Just did another wipe and format but still had the same issues. Not sure what the problem is. Never had any problem installing ROMS before.

Sounds like you're forgetting to flash gapps?

Well, it's 10:30 already and being wide awake, time to flash a new rom! I'm currently on jd's v3 and want to try jelly belly this time...would I just be asking for trouble using the cwm touch recovery to wipe and flash given all the problems other people have had? I'm not really sure how to get rid of it, so I keep putting it off. Would I be ok flashing regular cwm from within rom manager to overwrite the touch version?

Edit: Chief, thanks for the info on super wipe...looks like a good solution for my question

Ok, still haven't made the jump yet. Been waiting on things to settle down a bit with the bricking stuff :)

So, Jellybean 1.6 seems to be working well right now and the current one of choice?

I use Rom Manager to boot into ClockworkMod Recovery Touch v5.8.0.2. Can you just wipe and format everything with that with no issues? or do you need to use this "super wipe" that is mentioned to not have issues with the bricking or bootlooping? I am coming from Liquid 1.5.

Is anyone else having issues downloading any of these .zips? I'm running Liquid 1.4 and I get "download unsuccessful" every single time I try. Must've tried around 50 times now.

Now that I think about it, the whole download issue has been here most of the time on Liquid... wifi, 3G, and 4G. Can anyone offer any help?

1.7?

Good grief! Bring it!

Thanks for the heads-up... I'll see what's out in the morning, I suppose :D
It's up ;)

I think it would be fine, just don't hold me to it :o But seriously I have wiped, flashed all the JB roms except for vicious, restored to aokp numerous times without issue, all with 5.8.0.2 touch. So many people have done all this w/o "super wipe" (not familiar with that one) I really don't think it is needed. Do what you feel comfortable with :)

Not one reported bootloop issue on jelly belly build after 1.2. Hope you're not the 1st  j/k
I don't think super wipe is needed, but that's me. Don't use rom manager to wipe do it manually.

If you're talking about Jelly Belly 1.7 rom it is getting hammered atm.

Not just 1.7... I couldn't download 1.6, or 1.5 before that. Nor the one in the 3rd post. Guess I'll try Vicious now, see if that works. These download issues for me aren't new, but usually if I try it a couple times it finally downloads.

For those that have run into battery life issues I totally understand why. There are a few tips you'll need to review in the OP as to what is keeping your phone awake abnormally. It's a very easy fix. Afterwards, expect the same or better battery life as ICS. JB seems to more accurately represent battery usage over ICS. This is with 50% battery juice left, and of course all on WIFI as it was 106F outside today :p

Don't dnld the one in the 3rd post if it is v3. That is the version that has given by far people the most issues. People are still reporting bootloop issues on even the v5. I'm removing it from my 1st post and will ask dread to edit his

Please use the links in the OP as I keep them updated

Well I just referred to it as that because I couldn't think of the name. :p

Tried the link in the OP numerous times, still couldn't download. Trying to download Vicious now, we'll see how that turns out. Most of the time it'll get to 99%, then "Download unsuccessful."

People are hammering these servers and the hosts are not up to speed on the demand. Try late night or early morning when folks aren't on the PC.

Also be very careful about getting an incomplete dnld. Check your Md5's and make sure the file size is up to par. gl!

Would right now qualify as late night? Haha

Hey all, I jumped on the JellyBean Bandwagon, 4.1, y'all!! :D
I opted for Vicious, but I am seriously thinking about flashing back to Liquid Smooth 1.5. The JB rom, while smooth, it seems very basic and don't seem to bring much to the table? Perhaps I am missing something!? I see the other JB roms are causing some bricking issues.

Just as a small tidbit of information:

I recently switched to MyBackup Pro to see if it was any better than TiBu. I've only done one restore from it, switching from native ICS to CM9.

I wiped data, wiped system, installed JB1.6, installed GApps, booted... everything is working fine when I boot. Seemingly perfect JB1.6 install. Restore apps + data - apps FC every time.

Repeat whole process (wipe, re-install, restore apps/data). Again, apps FC.

Restore my ICS Nandroid, back up with Titanium Backup, do the JB1.6 process... restore using TiBu, everything is perfect.

just a question for you braniacs over here, i am about to attempt this ^_^

jb gapps on 4.0.4

im positive it will work just fine, do not know if any of you have tried it yet, and if so, o well i am right now :)

the gapps on jb look much better than ics, the google music is much more beautiful, and i like that :)

One interesting tidbit I've noticed this morning:

I can't make nandroid backups in ROM Manager.

I prefer that method because I can name my backups... but they fail every time once CWM starts, no matter what I name the backup. So I'll try a backup in straight CWM and see if THAT works.

I have had them fail ever time so I just back em up in cwm then I rename them in rom manager. Seems to be working for me that way.
