[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Ok, first problem. I was so paranoid about something happening I decided to plug in my phone to my USB port and backup my SD card stuff. Everything went fine. I'm sitting here browsing the web on my PC, it random reboots. Now I'm stuck on the Google lock screen.

I wonder if plugging into the USB did something? Like my computer went through the driver install routine as if I was plugging it in for the first time. UGH!!!

Edit: After a LONG time (over 5 minutes) on the lock screen it moved on to the X animation.

Edit edit: And it's back to normal. LOL.

Yup it will do that! Cheers for patience :D

I'm loving this ROM and Jelly bean, but I'm still trying to get Google Now working fully. Is there a way to get it to make appointments and reminders in the Calendar application?

Nothing gets your blood pumping like thinking you bricked your expensive smart phone that you love! :D

Check the first post in this thread Doc. There's some help pages that are neat.

JellyBean was fun, but the instability and possible threat of bootlooping is more than I'm willing to risk. Flashed back to AOKP B40 without any problems, but I look forward to it being integrated into the custom roms.

And after finally getting out (been stuck in the AC it's 104F here ) and playing with Now this new JB stuff is unbelievably fun. My battery life is insane as well easily matching that of my ICS standby. Running JellyBelly 1.3, imo it's the best of the 4 JB roms out atm.

Poor Anti it must be pushing 108F there!

Finally got a JB ROM installed, went with Jelly Belly 1.3 since it was the only one with separate Gapps, which seemed the most mature?

So far everything seems to be working well, though I've noticed some stuttering and lag. Nothing major, but definitely not living up to my expectations of Project Butter. To be fair though, this was pretty much right after a reboot (I already miss the reboot button!) and I'm pretty sure the Play Store was updating stuff in the background, so the phone was pretty busy. I'm thinking of moving to Franco's JB kernel, since my phone's worked really well with Franco's ICS kernel.

One thing that's annoying me, slightly, is that instead of Verizon Wireless, I'm seeing "T-CDMA 64" for the network name. I had this same problem with themes in AOKP way back when, but since the theme manager came out I haven't seen this problem. Minor annoyance, for sure, but still annoying!

Give the kernel that's built into Jelly Belly 1.3 a fighting chance. I thought the same thing upon initially setting up my phone, but like you said it was busy doing things. Of course there is no harm in trying out 3 of the JB kernels out at this time (franco, Faux, trinity) and overall, I'd say that more positive reports are coming out of faux's camp than the others fwiw.

And that is so random about the t-cdma64. Others, albeit few, are reporting it as well. Mine has always said VZW.

102 but Feel like 112. And I get to do yard work tonight! Think I will give it a while to cool off a bit.

Yeah I got Google now working and it's pretty cool. The traffic card came up 30 minutes before I left, which I thought was cool.

That's very cool. Drink lotta liquidz!

post some screenshots of it, anything that is different from ICS, cause right now it just looks like ICS with a few more speed enhancments

Sorry it took so long been so busy ;)

These are just a few. The voice app is amazing, looks completely different, and is very smart!

1.5 Jelly Belly is uploading now. This is my favorite JB rom so far. Should be available soon.

If you're coming from 1.3 Jelly Belly no need to wipe anything just flash the Jelly Belly 1.5 ROM. Check your Md5's!

jbdan,

Which version of the JB are you running? From which dev and which version?

Thanks for posting the screenshots...looks sweet!

Jelly Belly 1.3 by jakeday with built in kernel. He's up to 1.5 as of an hour ago. I'll flash that, or whatever he's up to tomorrow. It's really good and stable for me. Everything I've used on it works and works well.

Well that V5 shudder I had earlier today has made me want to try something different... so I'm going to do a full wipe and flash 1.5. No pressure JB but if something goes wrong I'm going to say, "BUT JB SAID IT WOULD BE FINE!!!" LOL. JK.

Edit: My first boot went through the lock screen quickly like normal and I'm on the X boot animation.... so... so far so good!

lol!

jakeday fixed the bootloop issue some were having in 1.2. He's taken a different approach to all this JB madness and I like what he is doing.

Not saying it's the best JB rom out atm, but it is the best for me :)

It's the little things. Has anyone tried the "Quick Controls" on the stock browser :fisheye: it is really neat and a very welcome improvement over the ICS quick controls!

First of all, thank you for the awesome job keeping the op updated thru all this craziness. No easy task for sure, but much appreciated and probably the single best place I've come across for the latest info on current jb rom versions, updates and troubleshooting. Thanks for all the time you take keeping us all up to date as well.

Secondly, would you elaborate a little on your thoughts/comment of jakeday's different approach? I have some free time tomorrow to play and had not come across this one till I saw you mention it. Thanks!

No problem it's always been my pleasure :)

This is my take: jakeday interacts with the community, and nicely. Rather than posting a ROM, saying cya!, then adding more and more add-ons and customiztions, things that are broke get fixed while keeping it stock. He'll then pump out an update. He listens.

He also took gapps out (the others have gapps built in) and now it is a separate flash just like ICS roms and per Google's requests. He's part of Team Rootzboat and they've put out some quality stuff and were really one of the first, if not the first (that I can remember) GN custom rom builders from the get go.

Kind of like Roman and AOKP. I flashed his first build back in December when I rooted around Christmas. It was just him and a simple little test rom. Now it's AOKP. I guess it's a gut feeling about people that lead me to a particular ROM or developer.

GL tomorrow feel free to ask questions, if I'm around I'll try to help in any way I can.

Jbdan, I can't believe you've got me flashing another JB ROM - but I'm doing it. Seems like this one may be a little more polished (and a little less prone to jacking the phone) than my previous ROM attempt.

Here goes nothing! :D

Hey hey hey now no blaming the messenger! :p

Hey JB, are you noticing weak WiFi? I even flashed the WiFi fix. I'm getting bad reception at the edge of my network.
